I want to buy a PSP for games/music/wi-fi. I am learning slowly about the 'best' way to get games on to your psp. Am I right in thinking that the new psp's (2.7?) are very difficult to get games on? And 1.5 is better? Yes/No? If I buy a new one do I need a modchip? Wheras the old one you dont?

if new = yes modchip
i think 2.6 can run some emulators and maybe some apps
2.0 can downgrade to 1.5 = what you want
anything under 2.01, if you can get is pretty prime right now, as the new devhook can run 99% of games

Thanks for the quick reply.
I am very cautious on what model to buy as I slipped up on my ps2 schp 75001 slimline and dont want to mess up again. Sounds like people know they can charge a lot for a used psp 1.5 as well. Think I will go for a brand new one and see what happens. Any chance of a new program to allow homebrew games? Or is it definatly a modchip?

most likely a modchip, since 1.5 can do almost everything, thats the main focus on homebrew
