Is it actually possible to downgrade PSP fw v2.5 to v1.5?

Sorry if this topic has already been opened, but there are some patches on the internet, which claim that they can downgrade the psp from v2 to v1.5, but i have a version 2.5, is there anyway to downgrade it, and i read in another forum, that the patches wont actually downgrade the psp firmware, but will screw the current firmware up, making the psp in-operable, is this true?

No you cant downgrade a 2.5. but you will have the option of buying the chip (Undiluted Platinum) and that will allow you to have 2.5 and 1.5 firmware on your psp.
