ahh.. i froze there also.

when it freezes, open up the menu, and write down or remember the key code.

reload a game and go open the weapons storage before freeing him.

go to free him, but before you do save it.

free him and as you start to open the door just start hitting buttons!!!

thats what i did, havent had a freeze since then.

For some reason I can never get past the scene where all the guys come out and catch you. I have tried the .prx files from both starwars and street riders, in combi with the button mashing method, and turning the clock down. I have gotten past it once but it froze again and cant get it past that certain cutscene again. Can someone please help me as my psp has been in the closet for about 2 months and this is the only game that got me to take it out. Much appreciated guys :) Or can someone post a gamesave so i can use that method.

Actually, I never used the rip kit (I have the full 1.60GB rip) and I DID use all of the Street Riders PRX files. I've made it to the 3rd level, but the 2nd movie freezes as well even after doing everything you're supposed to. Take my advice and don't use the 864MB rip kit. Also, if you get the full version working, SKIP THE 2nd MOVIE OR IT WILL FREEZE. I seem to be the farthest along w/ this, so I will update more as I advance on what movies to skip and other things to watch out for.

peace.

Well I had the ripped version working fine the first time, It had sound and everything, I really wouldnt even care if the game froze later on never to be played again, as long as it wasnt right out of the training mission. But im going to try a few more things.

yea, but sounds are missing and stuff. I ran into a fire I would've heard (b/c a metal pipe fell behind me on the oilrig as I was using the optic cable, but made no sound.) Had I heard it, I would've been looking for something. But then again, you've still got the problem of the missing audio. You need the info when you interrogate ppl and the rip kit doesn't offer that.

btw, what did you mean by:

Well the time it did work, it had sound. But now no sound, always freezes. I meant i would not care if the game froze in say the fifth level, never to be played again. But its freezin in the 2nd level, right out of the traning mission. Kinda sux might have to upgrade to play it.

No. Don't do that, dude. I got it to work. Don't get me wrong, it's a fricken sick a$$ed game, one that might even be worth upgrading over, but you shouldn't feel the need to do so now if you can't get it working. Esp for the fact that many other ppl have gotten it to work. You know? Um, a/f/a you saying you wouldn't mind it freezing in the 5th level or something- HELL no! If it's going to freeze and never be able to be played again, don't you wish it would happen in the beginning, so you don't get into the game too much? I would rather know up front if it wasn't going to work. I can send you the PRX files I used if you like. I've gotten mine working w/ minimal difficulties. Again, I'm on the 2nd part of the 2nd level (I said 3rd level earlier, but I was wrong.) Anyone of us here can help you, dude. Don't hesitate to ask. It may be frustrating, but I spent 12 hours trying to get Splinter Cell working on Saturday and it sucked, but it works great now. The only complaint I have is you need to rotate your save files. Save once, then the next time, save in a diff spot b/c you have a limited number of saves you can use b4 the PSP says it can't save anymore. There's an error created somewhere and it corrupts your save data. So make sure you have backup if you get that game working. Remember that. It's very important. You don't wanna have to start all over if you're nearly at the end b/c you forgot to rotate saves. Don't give up, dude. I think I used the PRX files from Street riders, but then again, I did go to psp-tuts/prx or w/e the site is and I downloaded some PRX files from that site. so I could have a mix. But w/e - I got the game working. KaosX, svtstang and I all have the game working for sure. I can't remember who else, but feel free to PM for help, dawg.

Peace

EDIT: For those of you who have tried Splinter Cell and think it's a great game, (which it definitely is) just wait'll you try Syphon Filter. It blows the doors off of Splinter Cell and the graphics are cutting edge which IMHO are the best graphics to be seen on ANY PSP game to date.

Im like obsessed with the Splinter cell series so it really wouldnt bother me if i had to upgrade to play, that would be the only reason i would play anyway. But ive tried this for like 3 days now. Street riders prx's then the Battlefront 2 prxs. Then I tried switchin the clock, deletin the gamesave then tryin again, formatting my memory stick, a comination of prxs from bf2 and street riders. I have tried ALOT of diff methods to get this to work. Still nothing. Would u mind postin the PRX's u used, ima give that a try now I think.

Yea, I'll post them later tonight w/ a small tutorial I'll make just for you, buddy. But you have to use VcdromX no matter what. But don't give up. How do you think I felt after spending 12 consecutive hours trying to get it to work? Like an idiot, yes, but I was more pissed than anything. It's ok - I get off of work in 45mins. I'll head home, put up the PRX files, send you a copy of VcdromX (Unless you have it already - it's gotta be v3.6) and send a readme. When it comes to the rip kit, do w/e you want. I'm tired of trying to help ppl when some little newb bitches me out for telling ppl they shouldn't use the rip kit b/c it's filled w/ glitches. w/e - he's just a doody-head. You gotta PM me tho or I'll forget to do this. Send me a PM to remind me all right?

I really dont need a tutorial, although it would be nice just to compare what I have done. I am no noob like the title suggests so I know to use vcdromX 3.6, which i have had ever since it was released. I run a source dedicated server over Ubuntu linux, Build custom PC's, repair them, modify them, modify consoles, actually workin on a lighted trigger mod for my psp right now and my new faceplate, so I know my way around. But i really appreciate your help with this bro.

EDIT #3:

We'll get you squared away, homie. You'll have this working in only a few hours now. Maybe even less than that.
