Looks like blacksauceny isn't a sucker afterall.I was curious about the outcome of that auction.

He/she didn't pay for the item. They have a -1 rating, which came from the seller of the x-box-pkg only seller, LOL. I checked into their history, and that's their 2nd different user name.

Will Ebay be after them? Probably not?
30 lashes with a wet noodle.

That's the first overall negative rating that I have come across.

But you know, I don't understand how some merchants can sell things for a penny and you see it a lot. I recently bought this really good stand for my digital piano for two cents! There were a lot of things for a one cent minimum bid. Granted, postage and delivery came up to $25.00 but it was a hell of a good stand and worth quite a bit so it was a hell of a deal even with that postage charge. I just don't understand how this is possible but they do it all the time.

Gerry, usually the penny starting bid is a bait to get someone's attention, the expectation is that the expected amount will be bid. But, alas as some find out, no one wants what they are offering and certain sharp individuals (Like you)find a heck of a deal. Just a part of doing business. WHen I sold my leftovers on E-Bay, I would always start out at .99¢ and watch the bidding soar, the real key was to have the bidding close out about 11PM on the east coast on Sunday evening, those auctions would seem to have the most activity in the last hour or so and would fetch me the most. Wonder if there are any antique canes listed now?
But, I don't feel sorry for the individuals involved in the X-Box box fiasco, both knew what they were doing, the winning bidder had set up a phantom account after he/she came to their senses and realized just exactly what they were bidding on. They had no intention of following thru with the sale, I've seen lots of users who do this to get out of paying too much for an item after they get bid remorse. C'est la vie.
