Had a 1.5 and wanted to upgrade (yey yeh I know) and half way during the 2.71 install
all the lights went out. Now I just get power light for about 10 seconds then goes out
again.
Help !

Yep, she's a brick. Sorry bro. If you ever feel the need to upgrade a 1.5, sell it on eBay for a crapload of money and then go buy a cheap 2.71.
One more 1.5 down, a few thousand more to go.

You can get the mobo replaced but you're better off buying a new PSP. It's just easier that way.

Cheers, I'm going to cry myself to sleep now.
I had a 2.0, downgraded , played around with some homebrew and a few games and
thought to myself, I'll never play games so thought I may as well update it. Downloaded the update via wifi and off it went. Got to 35% then lights out.
How stupid do I feel ???

If it's under warranty and it bricked during the update then call Sony. They should replace it for free without a problem. At least you get a replaced PSP.

I honestly have no clue if it's a good deal. I also don't know the difficultly level of replacing them and switching them out.

Mate, if you buy the new mod-chip which is coming out soon, then it will un-brick it.
Just make sure your psp was bought beofre October 2005.

some sites have already taking pre-orders.
But there has been a little set back... it will only work if your psp is bought before October 2005.
