can anybody show me step-by-step of how to copy CDs?

Problem is we can not show you step by step for every game has a different protection on it. Is it BF2 you are trying to backup?

Use Alcohol 120%. The trial will work just fine for now. It expires in 20 days it think? However, you should have full function of it for a good amount of time.
Battlefield 2 uses safedisk 2/3.
After installing the program you will want to rip the game. Insert disk 1 in the cd/dvd rom drive. Open Alcohol up and you will see options for ripping the game or backup copy of it. ( I dont usually make make ups but rather images I can mount so I do not have to insert the stupid disk everytime. I do not have the program infront of me right now so I can see "exactly" what the words are they are using.) On the bottom you should see a drop down box to which protection to rip it with. Use safedisk 2/3 and let it rip. Also make sure you have fast error skip checked. Then make the image. After the program is done ripping it you can either yous Deamon tools or alcohol to mount the image to just ripped and play it off the image. The disk will no longer be needed.
