first of all you should contact ebay and tell them they are allowing people to sell backedup movies. that is against the law.
second it sounds like the person who copied it the first time did a poor job of it.... do you have AnyDVD or dvdrebuilder?you can rebuild itt or use the ripper that is with AnyDVD and rip it to your hard drive and try and copy it from there.

If you buy originals, you'll have fewer problems than those you get dealing with pirates.....

@huz_99

i hate to say this brother but you got a bad discthere your trying to copy. did you use the ripper thats with AnyDVD? right click on the fox head then click on rip to your hard drive. that ripper has a tool in it to repair some of the bad files in the disc. im not a 100%sure about doing at any other way....if ya look in some of the other forums.or do a search for arniebear. he wil/might be able to give ya better advise on what to do....

More than likely since this is a backed up disk, it has been done incorrectly and probably on bad media. If it is a backup it has no protection on it so there is no need for AnyDVD you should be able to make a 1.1 direct copy if the disk is on a single layer DVD5 disk. You have not stated exactly what media the movie is on, or what errors you are getting, this would be helpful.

This disk is damaged/scratched/dirty. As stated try cleaning it, or as cincyrob suggested try DVDFab Decrypter/AnyDVD which will sometimes rip scratched disks better than Decrypter. Otherwise you can try isobuster to see if it will read it, that is the last resort.

Again, if one owns an original, then copy problems are less likely to occur....

arniebear's right about the disc being damaged or miswritten. There is one possible time when a copied disc does still have copy protection on it. That's if the old program DVD X Copy was used. it left a copy protection and your watermark on the disc if you did not use "321 gone" program to remove it!
