I'm in India where nearly all those who sell premodded ps2 or modchip new ones use the Super 7 modchip. Apparantly it costs around $40 (installation included since cost of labour is very cheap in India) It has many features of most good chips like ps1, ps2, DVD any region playback etc. Details here http://www.neoasic.com/super7.htm and http://www.neoasic.com/images/dm-super7-logo.jpg
Most of the american modchippers might not have heard about the super 7 modchip but it is a hugely popular one in South East Asia and is like the defacto chip. A couple however agreed to install the Matrix Infinity chip instead of super 7 for 10 dollars extra ($50) after I asked them. Does anyone here have ANY info on Super 7 mod chip? Or is it a purely asian phenomenon? Should I go with the recommended chips here or stick to what is the local favourite? Please help
It all depends on what you want, yes it's me again. I'm everywhere :)
If all you want is a chip that will play your back ups then it will work just fine. If you want a chip with more features and that can be upgraded and have bugs fixed via free flash upgrades then the Matrix Infinity is a much better choice.

and some i am sure i am missing and also more to come in future firmware upgrades. Firmware upgrades make a huge difference in a chip. The Super 7 will only ever have what it comes with. A Matrix Infinity they will always be improving on and adding features and the best par is the upgrades are a simple free download.
http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/matrix/site.pl?page=chip_infinity I think so but check out the firmware (software) page and read up on that. Or even email them and ask.
I know the DMS4 Pro does for sure but i remember you saying that chip was $30 more, why i am not sure because here they are pretty much the same price. I am sure if it is the green dot version you were talking about that it would as that is one i have heard a lot of great things about.
