Hi! I've finally got GTA LCS working on my v1.50 Japanese PSP using DevHook v0.41c (The latest update). Anyways, DevHook v0.41 is supposed to have wi-fi support and you should be able to play the multiplayer modes. I have 2 PSPs. The other one is a v2.01 European PSP. Now, I set up a multiplayer game one the v2.01 but for some reason, when I try to join using the v1.50, it doesn't work. The v1.50 doesn't show up on the v2.01's list and vice versa. The same thing happens again if I try to host the game on the v1.50. On the main compatibilty list on the DevHook thread, next to GTA LCS, theres a notice that goes something like - "Remember you're not using flash1 so you'll have to create a new connection." Can someone please explain what I have to do in order to get this working? Also, has anyone actually played multiplayer GTA using a v1.50 and any loader or homebrew? If yes, then I'd love to know how you did it. Thanks.

I'm using an ISO with DevHook for the v1.05 and an original UMD for the v2.01. Could you please elaborate on what fix it is that I should be getting from ps2nfo.com?

I am using DevHook v0.41c. Could you please tell me which files have been changed? This is because, the PS2NFO pack is the complete v0.41a pack. If you could tell me which the changed files are then I'd be able to just change those and still retain my v0.41c.

Ok, I've got the fix from PS2NFO. But... it still doesn't work. Its that same problem as before. The damn things won't pick each other up. I've got a constant WLAN Indicator motion but they just don't show up. I did mention in the opening post about the new connection thing that HelloPSP has just pointed out. Anyone know anything that could help out there? Also, dsdavis6, could you post in detail exactly what you did to play multiplayer after the game loaded up. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in GTA: LCS and not the loader.

Use the search button next time:
I;m tired, found this quick, compliments of Crazyfool he was kind enough to post this in another thread a few days ago:)
With GTA, i opened a full untouched iso in WinRAR and extracted the contents. you'll find that the contents will only be about 850Mb (something to do with the padding of the ISO?).
This stage may not be necessary, but i did it to save room on my memory stick and because custom sountracks work with devhook. i ripped the update and all the radio stations using Lande's UMD Ripper 2.5 (from PSP-Hacks.com)
Then I just rebuilt the ISO using UMDGEN 3.01 (don't bother using Ciso, you'll find its really jerky even at 333). The ISO should be about 570Mb, just copy it to ms0:\ISO, and run devhook. I think you may have to use at least 0.41, i tried it on 0.40 originally and i got black screen. Use the following settings in devhook and it should work
UMD Select: Whatever you've called the ISO (e.g.GTA LCS.iso)
UMD Mount: ISO ANYUMD
Firmware: 2.50+2.00
Boot Select: Reboot XMB
UMD Version: 2.XX -> 2.00
CPU Clock: 333 MHz
If you run it at 222 its as jerky as a .cso of GTA at 333, but i've found it runs fine at 333 for .iso
That's what i did anyway, no prx swaps. I did dl the ISO though (slap wrists)

I'm sorry but I have already tried that method and it has failed. I thought the problem was with my PSP but I have tried playing Ridge Racer Multiplayer using one UMD for both PSPs and that works fine. I have one last theory and that is that there is something wrong with the ISO that I am using. I'm in the process of making another copy. I'll update soon. In the meantime, if anyone has any other methods, suggestions or anything that might help, please post. Thanks.

Hmm... I'm using a fully untouched USA UMD ISO. I converted it using YAUIS v0.3a. Is there a better ISO shrinker around? I ask because my untouched UMD is like 1.16 GB. Also, am I allowed to ask for links to direct downloads or tor***ts of IS*'S?
P.S: svtstang: I can get the game to boot up and play just fine. Its the multiplayer that I'm having trouble with. Please read the first post for more details.
EDIT: It's not the ISO. I've tried shrinking it three times by dummying different files each time and all of them didn't work. Lastly, I tried just dummying the unwanted other language text files and nothing else and even that didn't work. Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong in the game. Can someone posts the steps they took in game to start a multiplayer match?
Here's what I usually do:
PSP v1.50
1.) Boot up GTA LCS using DevHook v0.41c.
2.) Press Start => Multiplayer => Join Game.
PSP v2.01
3.) Insert UMD and boot up GTA LCS game.
4.) Press Start => Multiplayer => Host Game.
5.) I leave all the optioins in it to their default settings.
5.) I wait and wait and wait of rthe PSPs to show up on each other's screens but nothing happens.
6.) The WLAN indicators on both the PSPs flash like mad.
7.) I get tired of waiting after 15 mins. and therefore...quit.
If I'm doing something wrong then please tell me how to correct it. If not, I really don't know what to do. Thanks.

Could you post some guidfelines on how to create a new connection. I haven't used the internet browser on my PSP yet. The new connection setup thing has a lot of options and stuff. Help would be much appreciated.

My best advice would have the browser do an automatic setup, then all you will have to do is enter your WEP key if you have encrypted your router.

Thats exactly what I just said. I don't have a wireless router - I don't use my PSP to surf the internet.

Well how do you epect to get on the net if you dont have an existing connection? Go to Starbucks or something, they have wireless networks. Your options are very limited.
