My PSP was in sleep mode or whatever you call it and my game was still on the screen but then please wait...came up on the screen and won't go away. I have tried turning the system off and that doesn't work.

Take out the battery and then reboot the PSP.

yeah take out the battery that should do it. my psp has done that to me a few times.
