Monster Hunter Freedom: can someone help?

Hello all,
I purchased the game two days ago and i have been unsuccessful on getting it to run on my 1.5. I thought i went through the devHook and UmdEmu->runUmd explanations correctly but i fail. I ripped the iso with fastloader. I saw somewhere about patching .prx files but i don't see them when i am in umdGen. I have gone through trying to patch with some r-mhf.ppf fix to no avail. The farthest i can get is with devHook, i freeze at the "Now Loading" animation which is just a couple seconds in. Is there anyone who has the patence to help me get this game running?

i froze there also before i used the ppf patch.
check your settings when you launch with the newest devhook .41d

Does the us version work at all, even with the patch?
Here are my settings:
UMD SELECT->mhf.iso
UMD MOUNT->ISO ANYUMD
UMD VERSION->2.xx -> 2.00
FIRMWARE->2.50
CPU->333/166
Boot select->reboot XMD

i just want to ask.. the people i bought my psp from said that most new games cant be played with version 1.5 because their sort of compatible only for hinger versions. The only way they can be played is for you to look for the homebrew version.. is this true?

You don't have to typically get a "homebrew version" of the game, but you most likely will have to get some homebrew applications in order to load the game. All the apps are not intended to help pirate, but to help those with legit copies of games who don't want to upgrade.

Hi everyone! My brother's been having the same problem as _Parasyte in his original post in this thread. Because I am a noob to the whole thing and my brother doesn't want to help (actually I don't really want to ask him and he's now playing the Euro version -_-), can someone explain step by step on how to get the US version of Monster Hunter Freedom working? Sorry for the trouble and thanks. =)

Sorry dude, but I didn't want to sound like an evil guy. They're (the reasons) both true though. xD
(oh and to everyone who's wondering what we're talking about, I originally posted about how I wanted to take advantage of a bug only in the US version of Monster Hunter Freedom that makes it easier to take down a wyvern =P)
Edit#2: On second thought, is someone willing to provide me the link to the US patch for Monster Hunter Freedom? My brother decided to help me =/. Thanks guys for putting up with me. =)
