i was trying to backup some movies to my xbox hd. but when i tried to make a folder in my f drive of my xbox through ftp it wont allow me to ..nedd explanation

have you tried making the folder using you Xbox and the file explorer on the evoX dashboard? this may work for you.

Check the folder filename length isn't too big, and try reseting the Xbox and re-connect and try again.
