Im trying to duplicate a DVD9 to another DVD+R DL.It creats a temp image and prompts for the target disk. Once I insert a blank DVD+R DL, in a few seconds the Burn process fails with the following log.

Can I get some help?

Thanks
Suman

sumandan,
Welcome to the forum. Below are the errors.

1, Remove your serial number as it begins w/ 1A20.............. as people will use it .

2.NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A> Version: 102C
Firmware is up to 103C unless your is a Dell Computer and then 102 is correct.
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=14&manufactor=23

3. DiskPeripheral : IC25N060ATMR04-0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : SCSIVAX DVD/CD-ROM 2.7a vax347s Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
DMA is off for the DVD-Rom and if you are using cable select it might affect the burner. Uninstall the Secondary IDE Channel and then re-boot and then let Windows reinstall the device properly. You will do this in Device Manager. Check to see if there are any yellow flags while you are in Device Manager

4. 12:43:15 PM #21 SCSI -1046 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1436
SCSI Exec, HA 3, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x033C0000
Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)
HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK)
TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)
Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)
It is telling you that you are using an illegal disk. Try Verbatim as they are way better

5. Use DVDDecrypter in iso mode to read and write the DVD image as it is way better than Nero in doing a D/L blank media. You can also use DVDDecrypter to read it and then use Imgburn to burn the compilation

@Car.Mike

Is Imgburn a better way of burning the DL than just letting Decrypter burn it after it has written the ISO? Or are they both about equal. I have had better results on my system with ripping the disc with Shrink in ISO and removing layer break and then writting with Decrypter (the ISO file)and letting Decrypter select the layer break. Just my 2 cents. It also is a one click process with 2 burners.

Garmoon,
Imgburn is just the updated version of the DVDD writing engine and I have seen no difference w/ the write although Imbgurn does let you booktype w/ more burners being recog. I like the original layer break as that is where the studios wanted it and that is why I use DVDD. Shrink and Nero have had problems finding the best layer break. You can get more info from LightningUK at his website.

The next best method if you want to spend the $$ is to buy CloneCD as it does Image files and uses the original layer break
