Help With Wxripper & ss merger 1.6

Ok tell me if im dumping the game right:put 8gig hotswap in ->Find Magic key-> Stop Drive->Insert 360 game without drive not knowing->then dump..is this correct beacuse at the end it opens with win rar its weird but it has an iso extension. and inside the rar file is what was in the dvd that i used to hotswap. Now i open ss merger 1.6 put iso in then ss and in the ss file md5 it has it there but is lit up in red and nothing is in the required ss file md5 box should i merge it and it will work or not or is this not the right ss file

nope your not. you need to put 8gig in > stop the spinning drive >swap disk with xbox game > spin drive > find magic number > dump image. then open iso in ss merger 1.6 and then push detect and it should give you a number in the required ss file area. then open your ss file and it should match up with the required one and they should turn green. and then hit merge and you should get a .dvd file after that. now just burn the .dvd file with clone cd. you should be good to go after that and it should work on your modified xbox 360

thanks kus ive been doing that the whole time and someone said it was right but it wasnt working...and i press detect but nothing happens it sits on an hour glass on my mouse and frezzes and says not responding why ia this?

dont know probably because u did dump the image right. so its searching for something that is not there and it never finds it so it keeps looking and then stays on the hour glass.

ok wheni put in my dvd its 7.85 gb and im tryin to dumb oblivion and when i do it your way it says hot swap dvd to small and i have no other bigger dvds so am i screwd?

no your not screwed. you just need to find a dummy creator program on the net. then creat a dummy file that is 8704KB and the file with be exactly 8.5 GB now just burn that file onto a DL disk using clone cd and now you have a 8.5 GB disk to use for you hotswaping

gamer17.... he was doing it right. you do not find magic number after you swap.
put 8gig hotswap in ->Find Magic key-> Stop Drive->Insert 360 game without drive not knowing->then dump..
The md5 should go red, and the required shold be blank, untill you select "detect". It will fill in the required then.
The reason WinRAR opened is because WinRAR has been set to handle .iso files on your computer. common overlook in the install process.
ALSO detect takes me about 10 minutes to detect, it will look like its doing nothing, but if you have a slower computer than 3.5 gigz and 1 gig of memory, be prepared to wait more than 10 minutes.
Ignore all of gamer17's posts, sorry gamer but you were way off the advice.

oh my bad i saw a movie on the net where they did the switch before the find magic number so that is why i thought in that direction. sorry everyone i will research it better before i post again. thank you ronnie for correcting me.

nope doesn't matter, WinRAR is just set to open iso on some computers.

thank you ronnie i successfully made my first backup and i couldnt have done it with out you. i am now trying to make a backup of Battle feild 2 but it says that i require a ss file of
D4782511918876B185416FA78C963963
but the only ss file that i can find for battle feild 2 is
0359CE8664453439FBA77333A867EC8E
will this ss file work for this game because its not matching the required ss file
p.s. i downloaded this ss file from clevermod.com and all the other ones i have used from there have worked so im wondering why this one isnt. thank you

oh it worked i just burned it anyway to see if it would work and it did for some reason. but now i have another question. i have backed up all my 360 games now im trying to make a backup of my brothers halo 2 disk so that when he gets pissed at me and wont let me play it then i will have a backup of my own. but when i go to copy the iso with wxripper it gives me a message saying " error @ 38912 : Data error (cyclic redundancy check). whats wrong with it. i made it exactly how i made the 360 backups so i dont get what its doing.

Hi ronnie101,
I just joined this forum to get some help on making my first bakup and you seemed to be the person that really knows this stuff.
Can you please see my post on burning the iso? I click on detect in ss merger v1.5 and it finds the required ss file but the box above it stays empty and red? Does this mean there is no SS file for the game "Farcry Predator Instincts"?
Any suggestions?

you need to open the ss file. the ss file can be downloaded at places live clevermod.com and other sites. just make sure it is the right regeion. once you open it then it should turn green and have a number in the black box.

Found this thread usefull but just correcting the 8704KB part it should be 8704MB

Hey guys im also having some trouble backuping up my games. I did hotswapping method and got the iso image in my pc. After i opened wxripper 1.6 and chose the iso it took a while to detect put after i got this. ERROR CONNECTION TO DATABASE:LOGIN FAILED FOR MSMERGER on the top and lots of other stuff i didn't understand. after clicking ok i got the ss md5 file but not the required. i have not been able to get the red to change to green and can;t find ssbin for Rainbow Six Las Vegas, the game trying to back up, so if somebody can please help me and give me step by step instructions to fix my problem i would really appreciated it THANKS ALOT

i'm the same way for vegas, i get the error connection to database. i get red on ss file md5 and a red blank required ss file md5

I am having a problem with wxripper. I have tried different dvds, king kong, ROTK, etc. but none of them will find the magic number. I have tried it before the swap, after inserting the 360 game, and no luck on either try. If I do it with the regular dvd it gives me an error saying "disk copy protected". If i try it with the 360 game it says there is an i/o problem with the drive. I have tried it with different drives though. No luck. Anybody have any suggestions?

I loaded my iso and my ss.bin file which i downloaded from ss.softmodfiles.net. When i click detect i get a database error. The Required SS file wont load. Can i still merge?

I have a question about this wxRipper? I am trying to use it so that I can backup my games, but when I open the program, and click stop spinning, the drive doesn't stop spinning. I can tell, because when I open the lid, you can hear it spinning. Does this program only work with Windows XP? I have Windows ME, and don't have the money right now to upgrade?

On the subject of ssmerger, i just started backing up my games (literally just now) and Im having a problem with SS Merger I keep getting this window:
and because that happens i dont get the "Required SS File MD5"
What do I do??
