ok i want to invest in an Undilutes Platinum PSP Modchip and have no idea were i would take it to install it into my PSP so i was wondering how hard it would be i install it myself. Can anyone tell me how hard it would be to install for someone that has a little less than moderate soldering ability. Please tell me cause i cant wait till a downgrade is possibly developed for a firmware 2.5 PSP

I dont think anybody knows the answer to that question...I personally havent even seen a pic of this so called "mod chip." Just the other day it was stated that not all psp's will be compatible. When/if it comes out, I would have it professionaly done unless your extremely proficient at soldering. Also, check out 3dluis's sticky, in one of the sections he noted that there is a possible 2.5 downgrade without the use of a chip.

With the PSP, you're better off having a professional install it for you. It'll be to hard for anyone without a lot of experience. Most likely, the mod-chip is fake.

A downgrader will never be developed for 2.5-Above.

Yea...................Your point? That could have been easily faked.

It's not a matter of finding an exploit because it's physically impossible to downgrade a 2.5+.

Why is that?

Because 2.5+ PSPs have a index file that if it's modified, edited, or changed in any way it instantly bricks.

Right now 2.1 is the only firmware that has a chance of being downgraded adn everyone that has 2.1 has updated.

It does seem odd that the same one picture of the modchip, and the same very vague features guide are making the rounds on every PSP site, and yet people are pre-ordering something that they don't even is real/will work with their PSP/is worth it if it did! There was meant to be a video showing off the chips BIOS on ps2nfo like a few days after the news broke, but as yet nothing. It's all a bit fishy.

That was a cool video eternalis, but it looks a lot like the other fakes on utube. If you had made a huge PSP breakthrough, why film it so badly so no one can really see whats going on? I mean, with devhook i can make my 1.5 say its a 2.5, so it can't be too difficult to make a fake vid like that i guess. Did you see the one with the PSP plugged into the 360? You can see the "system loaded" screen supposedly coming from the PSP to the 360 reflected on the PSP before the guy has even loaded to homebrew app on the PSP. It's funny.

USA Factory 1.5 > 2.71 SE-C > 3.03 OE-C, 4GB Sandisk + 1GB Sandisk, D-Pad Mod, SNES 9x_TYL 0.4.2, DGEN 1.70, NesterJ 1.11, DDR Mix V.1, PSP Revolution v.03 Anime, currently playing - Tony Hawk's Project 8, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, WSC 2007

He wasn't downgrading. He was making a very nice looking FAKE downgrade.

I know, it wasn't directed at you. I was just telling all of the noobs who look at it that the video is definetly fake and is far from real.

that video is beyond fake. Who out there has ever seen a pause that long after selecting an executable from the memory card? Not me. Thats way too long for the black screen. Ample time to splice a regular 1.5 firmware update clip. Nobody would come out with a legit firmware downgrader then just tease people with bogus videos. It would be released, especially if they're the type to try and get some attention with cheep videos. They would have released the downgrader to get the ultimate kudos. Losers

Heres a point....The modchip will not downgrade ur firmware, just accept the flash from all firmwares. The chip is not going to downgrade 2.7s to 1.5s, thats ridiculous.
