Hi all, i'm looking at buying a psp & need some questions answering. Obviously I want it for the games, but also I'd like to be able to put some films(dvd's i already own & have backed up) or recorded tv shows from my pc onto the memory stick to watch on way to work(was looking at getting giga pack)I've seen some mentions about firmware versions & some won't let you do certain things, some will etc & I'm getting bit confused, so if I go out & buy one brand new, will i be able to put my own video's on it & play them from memory? Also I've seen some ads for retro games packs to put on memory stick, will they work? Your help would be appreciated, as would very simple answers. Cheers!!!!!

ISO,s (BACK-UPS) Can only be played on a Version 1.50
All firmwares can play movies from MS, this now includes full res 480x272 AVC on version 1.50, its through homebrew apps that this has been completed. Can run all homebrew.
Version 2.00 is the only firmware that can be downgraded to 1.50.
Some homebrew, through TIFF or GTA exploits.
Version 2.01 -> 2.60
Some homebrew, through GTA exploit, but newer releases of the game have this exploit patched, so if you do buy GTA dont buy a new one, look through the preowned section. If it askes you to update to 2.60, you know its the patched version.

Cheers Sudds, clear enough even for me to understand & a big help. Am I right in thinking any new psp bought in UK will now have min 2.60 on as standard? Thanks.
