It could be your burner. You tell us. What burner/drive is it? Firmware?

I put a mail movie in too see if it would play, to see if there was a difference between home movies, I didn't even know if the computer had the right program to just view a movie. And I found that I could watch the movies, someone told me that I had to download a program to even watch a movie on the computer, when I thought all that came installed, and I guess it does.

You weren't gonna copy that "mail movie," right? Because that's illegal and it's against the forum rules to mention stuff like that here. You were just gonna watch it and send it back, right?

Anyway, you still haven't supplied us with info. Dell makes lots of computers and they all come with lots of different drives/burners.

Also, in your first post you weren't clear if the programs were reading the original disc or the blank media? In your latest post, you say that you got it to work...meaning the drive was able to read the original disc since it's a "mail movie?"

THe computer is a dell dimension 8110...and yes I viewed the mail movie only to see if it would even play on the computer to make sure the drive worked properly, because the computer is suppose to be able to let me view movies. I got it too work by just fiddling around with a disc and going through different files and things.
