Hello,

The following movies are giving me problems...

Shopgirl

The Cave
When A Stranger Calls
Fun With Dick & Jane
Venom (don't think this is a Sony title)

There might eb a few more but I'm not home rigth now.

Any help is appreciated.

Please, search the forum. All the movies you have mentioned have countless threads devoted to them.

In short, these movies are too new for Shrink to handle. You're gonna need a newer program (or an aid like AnyDVD).

But please utilize the search option.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

from what i can see, it may take more than having the latest AnyDVD to crack the cave.

i've tried using dvdshrink, dvdfabdecrypter, DVD Decrypter, and ripping with anydvd's ripper and i STILL get a cyclic redundancy error. the disc is slightly marred, but i have backed up many other dvd's that were in way worse condition.

It sounds like The Cave might be scratched... I spent a lot of time trying to rip a DVD only to find out it was too scratched for any program to handle. The funny thing is it didn't appear to be scratched more than most DVDs.

@jaynecobb, more than likely your movie, The Cave, is damaged worse than you think. This movie burned without problems for me. If it has any visible damage and is giving a CRC error then I'd suspect the damage more than the encryption.

Edit:
