If your PSP is ver 1.50 you can put the ISOs in a folder in your ms0 called "ISO" and you have to put the folder w/ all caps "UMDEMULATOR" in your ms0 as well. Then put your UMDEmulator and UMDEmulator% folders in PSP\GAME via USB cable. Once you've done that, go to the GAME section of the main menu (XMB) and you want to make sure you choose System Menu for emulation type or w/e it is. You've gotta have ANY UMD in the drive and when you go to the XMB, you'll see the icon for that ISO. Click X to launch it. If you use DevHook 0.41d, you can launch games that require 2.60 version by a few simple changes. But if you wanna stick w/ UMDEMULATOR, you can download DevHook v0.22 and click on Direct Load in the menu. Once you do that, you can go into the menu in Fastloader or w/e and choose DIRECT LOAD. If it's a 1.50 game. Anything at 2.00 and above requires minor manipulation. But Fastloader 0.7 is really good for ripping games from UMD b/c it's so fast, but as for ISOs, I think it only loads 1.50 games. That's been my experience, anyway.

Crap, I forgot you mentioned Fastloader v0.7 at the beginning of your post. Just use UMDEMULATOR. It's much easier and you have way more options. But don't get rid of Fastloader v0.7, as it's great for ripping games.

EDIT #15: You can also use DAXZISO which uses a new kind of algorithm to compress games or on DevHook v0.41d, you can use a tool call CiSO something or other. Search ps2nfo.com and you'll find a tool that refers to CiSO converter. This tool shrinks games like DAXZISO, but CiSO is compatible w/ DevHook whereas DAXZISO files aren't and vice versa.

What I'm going to do is play the game thru on my 1.60GB (ouch) rip to get teh FULL experience since I've never played it before. After I beat it, then I'll go ahead and rip it down w/ the Extreme method. Fortunately, I have that 4GB MS now, so I can get away w/ doing this. Um... but yea, I have 8 games on my 4GB MS now, but once I do the extreme rip for Splinter Cell, I am going to be able to store 10-14 games. (One of which will be "Cars"!)

GAME FACT: Did you know that the music files on Splinter Cell Essentials takes up 1GB of space? If there were a way to rip just the music from the game and NOT any of the other audio, that would be sick. The music from the game is mostly ambience anyway. So for me, that won't be missed. Hell, I'd like to do it when I get home, but I am SO sick of messing w/ VcdromX and the 32 stages you have to go thru to compile a game to ISO format.

Why not just replace the music files with dummy files? Although u really don hace to, with ur 4 gig stick. I am waiting to hear how awful Cell is when less than 400MBs, keep me updated:)

while on the topic of Emus:

A good game (ROM) to try for Snes9xTYLme is "Harley's Humungous Adventure". That game is totally crazy. It's about a scientist who inadvertently shrinks himself and he has to avoid things around his house like ants and crap. He has a jet pack and at one point, he floats on a sponge in his own kitchen sink and has to swim thru the plugholes and pipes and what not. VERY FUN! He has nails for weapons and drives a mini tank thru a his kid's playroom on a lego building in the 2nd level. You also have to fight bacteria and germs and what not...

Sweet sounds like my kinda game, I kinda like the adventure games more than the shoot on site ones.

Offtopic - Guano maybe you should put up an all-in-one really simple guide for peeps out there who have absolutely no clue as to what do with the emulators and/or have fw 1.5 but can't get the new games/umds to run on them. Simply cause there are so many guides out there but nothing nearly as simple/detailed as you put it ;-)

Thanks a lot, dude!! Really, that's great that you appreciate my posts and I'm glad you find them helpful! I can try to get this done for you guys, but the thing is, back when the "Learn how to shrink GTA:LCS down to 231MB!!!!" tutorial was released, (before all the problems and it actually seemed like a good tutorial) I tried to get it stickied and they wouldn't do it. I guess I can write a nice tutorial and contaKt ddp/Nephilism whomever else and ask them to sticky it. We'll see what happens. Not a big deal even if they DON'T sticky it. But then there's the issue of "Hey guano, where is that tutorial you made? I need it again..." But that's cool too b/c I just learned how to keep track of all my posts and locate them quickly, so it would be easy to find regardless.

it's the photo folder in ms0\PSP. I guess the reference to vshell is actually XMB. (PSP's cross media bar) Good choice on downgrading, btw. :) Welcome to the world of endless possibilities!

@Guano, yes I suppose the sticky would have to be up to the mods, but if its a really good guide I dont see why they wouldn't consider it ;-)
