Help! I burned king kong 2006 with shrink and I get somthing I have never seen before, in the about 200 backups I have done. I also tried dvd decyrpter. The problem is when I try to play it in my DVD player I get "Playback prohibited by area limitations". Anybody know what this is?
DVDs come coded for certain areas of the world 1 is for USA other numbers for different parts. I know AnyDVD which I use makes the burned discs region free. Where is the new player from? Was it bought in your country of origin? Do your other burned DVDs play in the new player?
When I say new dvd player. I mean a year or two old, I can say I don't think its the dvd player. Because I have made about 200 backups in the past that have played on the player. Shrink can not make the dvd region free? or dvd decyrpter? Now that I think of it the DVD my be from out of the us. Is there any free software that makes the dvd region free?
There are options in DVD Shrink to make the DVD region free. You will have to rip it to your hard drive and burn it as region free.
Once you hit the "Backup" button in Shrink, it should bring up a window that asks you for the region of the DVD. If you input the correct region, it will make the DVD region free. You'll have to figure out the region code for your DVD... AnyDVD can tell you this.
I've had this problem too with certain burns. Although quite rarly. It usually has to do with the DVD player. Not that it's a certain region or anything like that, just that some models won't recognise the burned DVD's. If you own a console system, try playing it in that. Or try a friends DVD player. Chances are, it will work in one, or both of those.
Thanks, I will try that. The thing that gets me is that my DVD player is the one that Usually plays everthing. I know its the DVD player, because it plays in the computer fine.
I tried playing the dvd in the PS2 still nothing. Put in the computer plays fine. I talked to a friend and he said most dvds will play in a computer because you can update the firmware. Makes Sense.
