I think it only works with PS2 games and not PS1. YOu'll need breaker pro for PS1 games.

IF you are usng the GameSHark LITE disc you can boot backups with it on the PS2 system. I think there's a tutorial around but I don't remember what site I saw it at, but I have use GS Lite for PSX before and it works like a charm! These came free with GS 2.0 Ibelieve, but they were once sold on their own. They are hard to find though.

There is still another method, but you have to get your PS2 exploited. It involves booting the PS2 using the PSX trigger disc, after the launcher boots, swap the PSX game for the backup, and get an app to boot the PS2 back to the browser screen. Your PS2 still thinks the backup game is original, so you'll see the black disc there. Select it, and it should boot it as if it were an original game!

If you have it exploited, that your best bet to get it done. It's actualy much easier than booting PS2 backups! lol

PS2 V9 with Custom Flip Top
MC Exploit
ULaunchELF 3.78
HDLoader 0.8a with 160Gb Maxtor HDD

Nintendo GameCube DOL-001
XenoGC 2.0
POTS adjusted to 400Ohms from 496Ohms and runs everything thrown at it

If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
