i have the famous PS2 problem of the disc read error :(I have google searched many timesand found the same result of how to take it apart and get rid of the dust. i have took my ps2 apart soo many times now its unbelieveable lol. anybody now an alternative fix for this thanks in advance

im getting the same problem with my Swap Magic CD and some CD games. i think my lasers dirty..not sure.

if its an fat ps2 then you could adjust the laser, there should be a guide on here on how to do it.@ pepsi have you not tryied converting the games to dvd mate?

nahh its the Swap Magic CD itself thats a bitch....takes me about 200 tries to get it to boot...and yes..mines a chubby :D
and EDIT. my DVD burner only writes to x2 and x4..and my ps2 doesnt like the x4 media i have...some EL-Cheapo stuff..

my fat loves the verb at 4x, sounds like the lasers goning on yours tho doesnt it :(

i dunoo :( it reads DVDs fine..just the Swap magic CD is a killer....thats all..and my PS2 likes verbs...not the media thats all cheapo...i have x16 verbs that my PS2 can almost read for san andreas....my burner went Kaplunk after that. but its soooo choppy...

so could of been burner going funny before,id try burninig the games on dvd tho as they play better on dvd as ive got swap magic and it sounds very dodgey when playing cd games.

my swap mgic cd plays fine tho its just the cd games that sound funny when loading up,hopefully its not the laser but if its an original and wouldnt work :(

i too have the disc read error. i tried adjusting that thing one click at a timebut it still won't read. sometimes it won't even spin the disc. i don't know whats wrong with it.....
