hi, the other day i broke my ps2 while cleaning the laser, so i needed to know which ps2 is better for modding, the fat one or the slimline

I would recommend getting a V7 ps2 IF you can find one.

i'll try to find one, if i cant find it, then wat version would i be gettin if i bought a brand new one cuase my chip is only compatible up to v12

Then get a V12, even those can be tuff to find lol. Only thing I ever see is V13's, im sure Ebay has some great deals on older versions.

i have no idea why your chip is only compatible with V12
But if you do not mind spending a bit extra i know where you can get a premodded V7, V12, or V14

But i agree, i would get a V7 if i didn't already have one :)
My V12 works real well too but that is because it has a top notch chip and laser fix
