o yes my favorite error page!! yea this [in my case] was poor quality discs..discs claiming to be 16X and in reality they burn @ x2 or x4!! el cheapos, henco en mexico!! NO WAY not any more, i switched my media to SONY and i havent had 1 problem since :)

to prove the problem is the disk which i said from the start it probably is use the Nero system info tool with the disk in the tray see what it says about the brand etc and what speed it will burn if it cant read the disk well there you go.

I've already updated my firewire to a306 and unistalled roxio. Those images seems way different than my computer. I've got this:
In device manager
- IDE ATA-ATAPI-controls
Nvidia nForce3 250 Parallel ATA Controller (v2.6)
Nvidia nForce3 250 Serial ATA Controller (v2.6)

There I could find that PMA setting. I try to unistall all Nvidia drivers and reinstall.
