I have a new v14 with a DMS4 pro chip installed by a repeatable modder I found on this site. I am having issues with understanding how to get the Elf file onto the mc card is it referring to the 8mb memory card for a ps2 or a thumb drive? Because the notes say you can?t boot to disk unless you have DMS4 SE. Ok this is what I have done so far I downloaded toxic 0.41 I put the hole file on a CD restarted ps2 holding down the square button and it boots to a generic toxic screen I changed to Dev.olution mode and push save and then complete restart ps2.
It does not seem to flash the chip because it works until I unplug system then its back to square one again.
Could some one please give me some sort of a step by step in instructions I was doing this for my kids and have little experience with the ps2 use of the controllers and functions. I myself was Atari man at one time but I am very interested in learning. Thanks.
I have done a lot of reading and learned so much so far it blows my mind.

not sure about your version, but with my V12 all i did was download the file, use winrar if needed to unzip it and get to the Bin/Cue file
Burn the Cue file to a CD
Then just stick the CD in and reset the console. It then asks me if i want to continue and flash it, i answer yes and it flashes it.
then you restart the console when it's done and that's it.

"It has been brought to our attention after reading the official DMS4 S.E. website that European and Japanese V14 system owners will be required to boot the ToxicBIOS upgrade disc using the fastboot method (hold "SELECT" during boot), due to an issue in the factory flash programmed into the first batch of chips. If "SELECT" is not held the upgrade will fail to boot on Japanese and European systems. Only V14 systems are effected and according to the DMS4 S.E. website this issue has been resolved and the next batch of chips will not be affected."

if that is not what your console is then just try my method above. And since they are talking about the Bios and not the OS i am not sure they mean the DMS4 Pro SE or DMS4 Lite SE

Hi steimy,
This what I was going by I think I must have been confused then. I didn?t need to the flash bios. I was thinking I needed to flash the Bios but from what you?re saying I need to get the operating system on they?re not the bios because it?s already there the toxicOS 0.41.
Do I need to burn the single cue file to a CD put that in and reboot?

This what I read at the toxic site which may have caused me confusion
Notes on V14 support
===================
To flash ToxicBIOS to a DMS4 NORMAL modchip installed in a V14, a specific
procedure must be used since the factory flash shipped with DMS4 NORMAL modchips
only has partial support for V14 consoles. You will probably not be able to boot
the Toxic upgrade disc so in order to flash the modchip we suggest copying the
upgrade ELF onto a memory card and loading it via Dev.olution mode. This
DOES NOT apply to the DMS4 S.E. modchips which have V14 support included in the
factory flash!

Thanks vzdog

If it is just a DMS4 Pro then use the method i used.
DMS4 Pro SE uses the ToxicOS as well
You do not want the Toxic Bios, that is for DMS4 Lite chips
You want ToxicOS V0.41. If that is what you already have then you are set because that is the latest one.
Yes you would use a CD burning program like Nero, then burn the Cue file as an image. Then you should just stick in the disc and turn on the PS2.
The rest of the directions will be on screen.
