Ok all, I need your help. These are the topics which will be covered in the GARGANTUAN Alpah Kr3vv Tutorial coming up. GtaUK and I are going to work hard and fast to knock this out, and he doesn't even know it yet. LOL (I still have to ask him to help out w/ this, but he is very busy w/ school, so I might have to take this on by myself.)
Here we go:
Alpha Kr3vv Tutorial will cover:
ISO/CiSO/DAX launchers, UMD Dumpers, Creating ISO images, Shrinking / Compressing ISO images, Rip Kits (and what they do), Changing PRX files (guano's way AND svtstang's way), Decrypting PRX files, Homebrew Installation (for v1.50), Hacks, Patches / Fixes, WallpaperChanges (for v1.50), "Hidden" Files, MPH Downgrader, MPH Firmware Launcher, Recommended Applications, Basic PSP Maintenance, DevHook Versions 0.22 and 0.41d Installation and what they do, Use of PBPUnpacker to Customize Splash Screens in your homebrew Games menu (Unpacking an EBOOT.PBP), How to use KXploit, How to use PSPBrew, How to use eBOOT Loader / Eloader, How to use UMDGen, How to use VcdromX 3.6... -- ALL links for downloads provided.
It's going to be a nice, clean layout. What's going to happen is on the thread you click on w/ all this info contained in it, there will NOT be a bunch of text and links and a bunch of crap. I am going to have a Table of Contents in Hyperlinks, so the page can be kept short. You click on a certain topic you wanna learn about, it will take you to a URL on a completely diff server / diff site.
Now it's up to you guys. I need more ideas on what ppl are not familiar with so I can include those things with the release of this Tutorial. Or did I cover all of the major areas of interest? (Btw, IDK how to do ANYTHING w/ PSP Video 9 or Movies, codec conversions or anything like that b/c this is not of interest to me.)

Sweet, I think you've covered everything so far. You may also want to include a "How to get you're original 2.50-2.60 umd running on fw 1.5"

Yea, but according to stang, ISOs are VERY touchy. He says he could never copy / paste the PRX files for the game to work. He always has to swap them out w/ UMDGen. Myself, on the other hand, I can just copy / paste and click "YES" to over write the old PRX files. So it depends on the ISO you have, I guess. I don't know exactly how it works, but ppl need to know both methods, just incase. The way I'm able to do it is MUCH easier of course, but if it doesn't work for someone, they'll have an alternative. Of course, then you'll have the ppl who wish to have that "safety net" and they'll go w/ stang's method the FIRST time b/c they want a sure-fire method. Either way is all good, my nikka...

The first time I tried it I just extracted the ISO to folders and then when in and deleted the UPDATE and replaced the PRXs (Copy and Paste) then I went to recompile the ISO using Power Achiever. But, I have an expired trial version (869 days expired) and It wouldn't let me do advanced stuff like compile an archive to an ISO. So I just did it in UMDGen. Xp

Yea, UMDGen is tight. It's the FASTEST method of recompiling an ISO. VcdromX is great, but it takes forever...

Yeah I am digging UMDGen, I just wish I knew what I was doing wrong when I was deleting files in UMDGen...Does it dummy the files when you hit delete? But even in YAUIS the game failed to start, maybe I am removing files required by the game...oh well the rip kit got rid of the music and the intro videos (which is what I was trying to do).

Dude, look at that list! I would have to be crazy if I was going to write these on my own. All I ask is if anyone helps me write them, they post the tuts on the net somewhere and give me the link so I can post it in the thread when the tutorial thread is ready to go. I think a great idea would be to use http://s21.quicksharing.com b/c you can write your tutorial and whoever needs it can just d/l it and keep it until they're done w/ it. Benefits of this would be if they didn't have their own internet connection (like if they are at their family's house visiting and they're on the net and have to get off the computer and go home, they can put the tutorial on their MS and take it home w/ them to read later.)

KK, just wondering because I might be interested. I'm probably game for the MPH Downgrader and Firmware Launcher. I can do Devhook as long as it's a tutorial on just setting it up and no ISO loading.

That's cool. You can start whenever, dude. Thanks a lot. :) Btw, I am glad you're doing the FW launcher, b/c I can only get that by tinkering w/ it. I haven't used it enough to just go in and do what you're supposed to be able to do. I seem to have a little difficulty w/ finding and loading the EBOOT for it to work. It's funny, too, b/c I remember reading posts here about how ppl saw their PSP was 2.50 and wouldn't launch any homebrew and got scared they were tricked into upgrading. That's how I was when I tried the FW launcher! LOL I got pissed and thot someone from Sony was masquerading as a hacker and wanted to trick ppl into upgrading!

What wasnt your idea? Nobody said anything was your idea. All these threads being started about the "Alpha crew" are wastes of space. If you want to help ppl do it. Seems to me this is all about status, being known as the best, which is lame as hell.
