I just downloaded the European release of Loco Roco and it is great; I am definitely going to buy it when it hits the states. However, it came in a .cso file and I am not a fan of compressed ISOs...Is there a way to uncompress a .cso file?
Thanks

It is a really trippy puzzle like game...thing. Look it up on gamespot.com, but here is a synopsis. You control a blob of jelly-ish stuff (a loco roco) and you have to make it from one side of the map to the goal at the other side. You collect fruit and avoid enemies along the way. The only controls used are the shoulder buttons and the circle button. I am pretty sure the designers were on acid, but it is pretty sweet. The crazy music and graphics are a little reminiscent of Lumines. Look it up on gamespot.com

I quite enjoy this game.. its alot of fun and different, thats the best part for me.
BTW - when u decompress a ciso back to iso are you losing any of the quality? What I mean for eg. when you convert dvd to AVI and then back to dvd - you actually the resulting dvd quality is worse than the AVI. I'm just concerned about the tiny details.

No, I didn't see any quality loss. But, I was running out of room on my memory stick so I put the .cso back on and then ran it at 333Mhz, runs smooth as butter (at 324mb).

@dusk
When you decompress, no quality is lost, most of the time there it better playability. On the other hand, a lot of games start to play funky when you compress the hell out of them, GTA in .cso compression comes to mind in that case.

Yeah, exactly what I was thinkn, couldn't figure out why peeps were compressin iso's like crazy, I guess its a space issue. Still no fun in playing a funky game.

You are exactly right dusk. The only reason to compress a game is to save space. Might as well use a ripkit if you are going down that road also. Most times games have dummy data(Legend of Heroes 2 has a dummy .bin that is 500MBs), and getting rid of the dummy data will not adversely affect gameplay.

NO problem, and im sure you know this, but UMD Gen 3.00+ has the option to resize dummy data to 0 kbs, thats always a welcome feature. Sometimes it lies to you though, so just take the time to look the USRDIR and SYSDIR folders for dummy data.
