hi friends

Im a very new beginner and please help me out as Im trying to get this done for the past 3 days and Im sure I will not get disappointed by your help.

I have movie on two seperate files CD1 & CD2 each of 700MB with DivX format. My hardware is Samsung writemaster(Model H10N) and the disk to copy the files is DVD+RW. I have followed the guide provided on the following link.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

When I added the files it exceeded the limit of the DVD+RW which is 4.7GB. After reducing the bitrate thus sacrificing the quality the files adjusted with space of 4.30GB on the DVD+RW. It took 3 hours to trancode and 1 hour to burn. I left it over night and when came back in the morning it was displaying a message that it has burn successfully. But to my surprise when I accessed the DVD+RW it was empty. Please can provide me the easiest guidelines to perform this task successfully. Your help can benefit many users who are new of performing the hectic task of copying movies on DVDs.

Please guys help me out.

Anwar

Seems like you downloaded these files seeing how this movie has not been released.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

You are obviously using Nero to burn the files, which version of Nero are you using, Ultra or Premium is not what I am after, it will be something like 7.0.0.0.
Also please edit out the title of the files(movie)

Yes, please go to the pen and paper icon at the top right of your post, click on it, remove movie titles and then click on save changes.

Ok so you were using Nero 6, do you know the version number, some are full of bugs and cause errors.

Upgrade to 6.6.0.18 here: http://my.afterdawn.com/locoeng/blog_entry.cfm/280

Also lets have a look at one of your logs....you can find it here:
Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

OK now I want you to post a Nero log, how you do that is go to this location Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt and you will see your log files, highlight them, hit control c, open the message box and then hit control V, your log will then be ready to post.

@LOCOENG, Over to you buddy I'm off to bed, its late here and it's been a long day, Cheers.

You have almost no memory left to burn DVD's, absolutely no multitasking. 512K is the lowest recommended amount of RAM for this type of application, but you can get by with what you have. Turn off antivirus software, firewalls, internet connections and anything that might be drawing from your resources.

Disc Manufacturer ID: PHILIPS, Media Type ID: 041
Very dodgy media, get some quality Verbatims (MIT or MIJ) or Sony, Fuji, Maxell (MIJ).

Reduce your burn speed to 16X for CD's and half the speed rating of DVD media.

I also said to turn off any internet connections so you won't be prone to attacks.

I would save your firmware to your desktop so you can find it easily when you flash it.

The firmware should have come with a readme file, you should follow the instructions contained in it explicitly.

You will need to download the flash utility as well...here is another thread which the user has the same drive as you and was successful. Pay particular attention to post# 15.

5 hours? You should already have some files that have been converted ready to burn right? Do you have a regular store bought movie you could rip real quick, and then burn?

Then we shall have to wait. You don't have any other movies that you have burned to DVD or you have never had a successful burn?
