The 'Blonde One' needs help with run umd and devhook- Please!

Hi guys, sorry to trouble u all again, can anyine help me with run umd- I have 'Dog Happy life, King Kong and Cabelas dangerous hunts' iso's. Apparently they require run umd and umd emu both of which i have (in the right place hopfully) and everytime i try and load a game with run umd it comes up witht he message on a black screen- 'PATCHER FAILED'
any thoughts?
And is there a good 'simple' guide to devhook out there?

My devhook 0.41d just says- 'cant load/start devhook' when i try and load my harry potter iso through it.
ARGH ITS SO ANNOYING!!

u couldn't help me with the run umd prob could you- i have spent literally all day trying to read about it---
i want to play some iso files which require
RUN UMD AND UMD EMU---- WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO ;(
please help!

Download the 2 progs and drag them to the appropriate places on the PSP, use the readme in the rars you download.
Oh, and just to clariy, you are using a 1.5 PSP yeah?

Yes i have 1.5-- i have UMD EMU 0.8c,MPH LOADER and RUN UMD 0.01.01a1 experimental
When i try and play any iso's like 'dog happy life' i go to umd emu first and choose system menu- then i go and load up run umd and it just goes to a black screen and says-
Patcher failed
is the run umd a bad copy?

sturgee.. have u tried this.. its quite a hassle but it worked for me.. i reformatted my psp then put one iso on the iso folder.. then put the dh folder outside together with the psp folder then put the folder with the % sign and its counterparts to the game folder.. magically it plays.. hehe then i added more game.. i dont know why that works but if your out of options theres no hurt tryin ayt?

someone has pointed me in that direction but it wouldnt even play the files that umd emu played on its own.
can someone point me to a link for run umd that is proved and tested to work and works with umd emu 0.8c please?

Or tell me where u got the package from......are all the run umd programs for psp-hacks working?
ame with the devhook- i really want one thats been tested so i know it isnt my fault they aren't playing!

Thanks for that link- i have actually tried that before and after reading all the 'read me' files i still got nowhere- do i set it up like umd emu?
the thing that bothered me was the dh install icon on my actual psp- it said to update firmware and obviously i dont want to lose my 1.5 firmware- should i do this though?
AND will this work alongside my mph and umd emu?
Any help with the tried and tested 'run umd software'?

Run umd is only good for older games, devhook is a godsend for all games that require 2.5+. Just put the dh folder in the root, and the DEVHOOK/DEVHOOK% in the GAME fodler and you are good to go. .41d pretty much eliminated the update optio the earlier relaeases were plagued with, but if a game offers that option NEVER DO IT or you will then have to spend $100+ bucks on a chip to fix having a 2.71 psp. Also, if you decide to use UMD Emu, you might as well use DAZXSIO since it utilizes the UMD Emu core and lets you compress your iso's.

is the root folder where my ISO folder is?
And i am glad u told me about the update version as i think i tried an earlier devhook and it gave me the option to do it!
i am quite familiar with umd emu- dont have any probs, does the daxiso work the same way?
and the reason i want run umd is, there are some older game iso files i have (such as dog happy life) that i really want to play and on the psp-hacks compaible chart it says i need run umd and umd emu to play them.

Yes, the root is the first screen when you connectthe pspto your comp. Daxiso works the exact same way, except it comes with the DAX creator tool which is extremely easy to use and compresses the hell out of most games. Im pretty sure you are speaking of the UMD Emu Run UMD edition version of A dog Life, where you have an X folder.... The problem with those games is that they were early attempts at booting newer games, and a lot of features are missing from them (some are even missing the option to save). In that case, just find an untouched iso and boot it on devhook with full compatibility.

just tried to load up 'cars' with devhook and once i have specified my settings, ie: firmware 2--->2.5, cpu clock etc
it says cant load/start devhook!!
i got this message last time!! ARGH!

Cant post where to get an untouched iso, but tink "torrent" and you should find what you are looking for. Let me know how devhook works out for you, cause its the only thing that holds me back from buying the UP chip. Speaking of booting games, thats also another option if you are tired of sorting through different loaders, it allows you to boot iso's without loaders.

sorry if i need everything spelt out to me, but i refuse to give up!!
what is that option?
and would my normal torrent sites be able to give me untouched torrents?- is there anything that gives me an indication that they're untouched?

Boot = load, thats all. And yes, most torrent sites offer them, although its hard to tell which ones are actually untouched. Usually they have a description, and any iso that says it bootable via devhook or dax is usually untouched or patched in order to be bootable, which is a good thing since its that much less work on your part.

If i were to use UMD Emu, I would use .8, its by far the most popular. Im not a big fan of Run UMD, I personally use MPH gameloader. Heres a link to all loaders known to man(or women lol):D

What i am just frustrated about is- the psp-hacks compatible iso list tells me to run some iso files i have some need-
****umd emu (0.8c is what i use and am used to)
*****Run umd and umd emu ( Which i need)
****Devhook (which i have thanks to you but it wont load or start for me)
and ***mph loader which works for me
is there one universal loader known to women (and men!!) that can load all of these iso's and stop me smashing my psp up altogether!!!

lol, no:( Heres a link to the UMD Emu Run UMD edition i think you are talking about (use this for games that come with the X folder, you know which ones im talking about...)http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/427 Only use Devhook for 2.5+ games, and use dax/UMD Emu forall others.
Or you can jst fork over the $100 gor the mod chip and every game load without using a loader.....but where's the fun it that?
