many chances are its not going to work. this disc image need not be submitted to the hard drive compatibility list as NOT WORKING you tool.

you see, many scene groups change the sectors of the games so that they load properly OFF A DVD. at this point it is no longer a proper ps2 game.

here's what you do: extract all the iso's files (i dont kno if there's copy protection u have to worry about, sue me) and then repackage them. THEN move them to the harddrive.

if its already on the compatibility list then it should work. Also since you legally own a copy, just rip it in hdloader / hdadvance in the first place haha. yeh rite.

Xbox360 Samsung ms25 Xtreme 3.0 + 111d
PS2 v7 scph39001 Matrix Infinity GD

forGET the swap magic and hdloader!!! if you want convenience and have it 100% working, get a modchip.

no, not at all, completely sober.

i ripped some real ones to my comp and then moved to hdd

and then used scene releases and some of the same ones didn't work (but worked w/ swap magic on a disc)

it puzzled me at first and frustrated me why some games would not work off the hdd when all the compatibility lists said they would. (region checked off and everything)

i finally looked up the process involved in burning a ripped ps2 disc image to dvd, like optimizing it, and i noticed the tutorials mention changing sectors so the dvd-rom reads the disc a certain way

this cleared everything up, that the scene releases were doing things this way.... i followed the process in my first post and some games now work that previously did not.

what would really be handy is if you actually linked people to the information. Like a link to a HDD compatibility list and a link for what they could do to fix the games.
Without that is is just a bunch of information telling people a simple thing.
If you download a game it may or may not work on your HDD.
It is a good post, you just need to be more thorough.

well sure I can put a link of hard drive compatibility list and the different modes, but this particular thing has nothing to do with the modes and I feel people should do their own research on that.

this is for games that SHOULD work (w/ proper modes selected) but for some reason don't because you downloaded it

I personally found out the hard way that many downloaded games don't work, this is my experience with this and how to possibly fix it
