I was backing up my copy of Eight Below. I used Fab Decriptor, after that I use VOB Blanker. When I use DVD Shrink v3.2, about half way f thru the compression process, my system shuts down. Each time I tried this, it shuts down. I also use DVD Shrink v103, same results, Next I use Nero recode and the same thing happens. I have backed up over 600 of my movies and never had this happen.

I just had this same problem a few weeks ago. well it sounds like it is. my processer was overheating thus shuting down the computer during the use of shrink and Nero.
Is this happening with different movies? if so, the cause of my problem was dust. my heatsink was full of dust thus blocking the CPU fan and making the processor overheat. i think on almost all the bios's there is a shutdown temp. if the cpu reaches that set temp. the computer will shutdown.
I too had backed up a ton of movies then that problem happened all of the sudden.
So maybe u should try and get all the dust out and check to see if all the fans are working and see if that helps.
Also there is a program called speedfan that moniters your temp and fan speeds.
