Hi, I decided today that I should go back and shrink some of the games I had loaded on the hard drive already, which I didnt do before because I was lazy. To do this, I extracted the files from the hard drive using WinHIIP, then ran those files through Gnie's Shrinker, and then put the new files back on the hard drive through the add image button, and I erased the old ones. However, when I just hooked up my hard drive to the PS2 again, it just says that my hard drive needs to be formatted, and that if I format, all my data will be erased.
What happened? Ive never had such an error before, and since I have a practically full 160 gb hard drive, putting everything back on would be a really big hassle. I presume that something about the shrinking messed it up, but I dont know what, and I am afraid that if I mess with the hard drive anymore, Ill just screw it up more. Plus, if I do HAVE to reformat, and put everything back on, that still doesnt help me clear out space, because I presume the shrunk games would make the same error. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? If it helps, I am using one of the older 0.7 versions of HD Loader, and plan on installing 0.8B tonight, if changing versions may help things (I run hd loader from the mc and a ps one disc as well). Also, the games I shrunk and put back on were TimeSplitters 2, Black, Burnout Revenge, James Bond:From Russia with love, Ultimate Spiderman, Jak 3, GUN, and Mercenaries (I tried to do Soul Caliber 3 as well, but I got some weird error when I tried to put the shrunk one one using HD Loader, so I put the original back on.) Someone, please help me, and thanks ahead of time for your help. Sorry about the wall of text.
