Yep sounds like your drive, i'd ditch that Samsung and go for a 120Gb or 200gig Maxtor. You do know that hdloader has the minimum of 40gb and you have a 30gig right?. Why do i say Maxtor? well its claimed to be the most compatible for PS2 and they seem to be more reliable than others. I currently using a 40GB on mine but im gettin a new 200gig soon.

Hope that helps :)

they should be faster from the HDD and not slower for sure.
Depending on how much you want to spend here are some options.
1. get another internal hard drive that is more around 80GB or something and try that. Make sure it is compatible first!
2. Get a DMS4 Pro chip then an internal hard drive. DMS4 Pro has many features that are used with hard drives.

I have the DMS4 Pro and a 250GB Western Digital internal hard drive in my newly converted V12 slimline. It was converted as i had it put into a new HD Combo case made to convert the slimline into a PS2 that can use and have an internal hard drive.

Not true, I've used 2 gig drives before and they have all worked flawlessly.

Strange, the only time i have ever had and game lag on hdloader is when
a)I'm not using hdloader and i'm using hd advance..
b)I am using a failing HDD.

I was using a western digital and man was it a piece of crap. Thought it would be fun to mod my network adapter to fit it. The mod was fine, just had no idea the HDD would give me such a hastle.

Krepul, what exactly is your setup? What game or games are lagging on you?

Also, how old is your PC and do you ever have problems with it too? The reason I ask is because sometimes what can happen is you have a good Hard drive but a bad ide controller on your PC. This can lead to corruption on your hard drives. If you pc is having the same symtoms as your PS2, that could be your culprit.
