newb here...just read the guide and already I'm having a problem...I have both XBOX360 SSMerger 1.5 and 1.6 but everytime I try to open them I get the following message
"The application failed to initialize properly (oxc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application"
Why wont it work, what am I doing wrong?

my days of cd coaster's are gone i hope.
i couldn't find creator but i used decrypter
to burn it and it works great
no more clean disc with soft cloth crap

i didnt know i couldn't put my email up
i didn't get anybody signing up to my messenger anyway

now i would like to know how to get faster downloads
from utorrent
i actually paid for this thing thinking i was going to get
downloads to go faster
any help would be great
24 season 2 has taken 2 weeks 1 day so far
and is only at 93%

I know ive seen forums on here on how to to potomise your download speeds with utorrent.
Do some looking around on this site and you should find it.

when i do a stealth check with xbox backup creator i get this
Checking Stealth Compatibility
Video is valid
PFI Failed. Data is missing.
DMI Failed. Data is missing
SS is present
Stealth Check Failed!
does this mean i can just burn the disc or does it stil need patching

Your game should burn fine,
You dont actually need the PFI and DMI
You only need the SS

Hey can I just clarify this is what I need to do to burn an obtained iso:
patch it with its corresponding ss file with ss merger and then just burn it on a dual layered burner with DVD+R's , bitset to DVD-rom?

ok i found a link off Google using xbox 360 informit.com that shows you how to take apart your box & put it back together. quick ? though because i don't own one yet. Can this be done without screwing up the warranty sticker? when i buy one i'll get an extended warranty just in case. something good to know before spending the extra $20 at best buy. Awesome thread, just an incredibly easy way to do this :)

I'm burning 360 images to Dual Layer DVD+R Mirror Discs. I'm using Clone CD to burn the Image. I have a Pioneer DVR-111D DVD+/-R/RW Writer that is hooked to my laptop via USB 2.0. My laptop specs are AMD turion 1.8GHZ 256MB RAM. I keep burning coasters 50% of the time. After it switches layers or sometimes even before on Clone CD the write speed drops to like 1.3 and I get the write failure error. My friend says it's cos the USB cant handle the transfer. The same happens even more when I use Nero. Any Ideas? I'd love to be able to make this work, I don't have a PC, just my laptop which is brand new. I'd spend money if I knew I could get my setup working. But not too much of course. Thanks in advance.

I didn't firmware hack mine, I got some guy to do it for me, but he says that there was a sticker inside that could be broken if you're not careful, but as long as you read up on it beforehand, its quite easy to avoid breaking that seal.
Besides, just buy it from a shop which has an instore guarantee/warantee, so if mine ever breaks I will just go to the shop I got it from and exchange it there without sending to microsoft, or do they not have shop guarantees in america?

yes thats all you need to do to get the games playing on your 360,

Hitachi Drive? Are you on about an xbox 360 hitachi drive?
I dont think you can buy them seperate.
Im not too sure though, Why would you need to buy a seperate one?
And if your on about obtaining a hacked firmware for 360 drive your gonna have to use google im afraid, sorry

I would recommend buying both drives rite away,
Do you have a friend with a modded 360 and pioneer 111d?
If you do buy like 10 bulkpaqs (lowest quantity you can get i think) and try some out on yours, if they work fine then go ahead and keep on buying them.
Contradicting myself here abit but you cant really go wrong with buying the Pioneer 111d, and the Samsung SH-DC162,so buy them if you can afford them.
And to add on to what LiquidusX said, use Xbox Backup Creator its a great FREE alternative to CLONECD

Be sure to get the Kreon 0.81 firmware for your samsung drive
And the latest firmware for your 111d of the pioneer website.

Hi i need help lol, ok I have XBOX backup Creator v2.4 and i have
DVD-ROM SH-D162C with kreon v.81
Img Burn 2.2.0
I am trying to make the image on my Computer for right now until i get the DL disks i DO have teh DL burner its a liteon. jsut need some disks. But when i get to the step that says press start...the button is grayed out and i cant do anything, and it says this is not a true 1 to 1 copy of the image

Ok well that didnt work it starts and gets to 1% and then i get an error that says:
Function: MyExtractSecuritySector
Sub Function: MySendCDB
Return Code: 2
The Semaphore timeout period has expired.
then i Press ok and it says:
Can't Extract ss.bin
I was just hoping to use ImgBurn.. i wonder why it isnt let me do it.

Hi guys thanks for your help, ok well i have been trying to make an Image of my Gears of War Game, for now then when i get a Dual Layer disk I will make the copy of it, but for now i just want to make it an Image or ISO w.e its called, lol, well im not sure if im doing it right or what, this is the tutorial im using...

ok i can do all of this except when i get to step 4. where it says to press Start select the directory and enter a name you can see in the pitcure that it is highlighted but Mine is not, its still all grayed out, yes i have the Samsung DVD Drive,

right now im just trying to amke an image of this game on my computer then when i get soem DL dvd disks i will burn it.
I havent changed any settigns on anything.
I know that the drive recognizes it because it shows up as XBOX360, also im not sure about all this ss merger 1.7 do i need that? becasue in this tutorial it doensnt mention anything about it, i just want my back-ups to play just as good as the original and on XBOX Live :) um...here is my log of my last attempt for this.

1. Open Xbox Backup Creator
(Ensure your DVD+R DL disk is in the correct drive for burning.)
2. Click the write tab
3. At the very top of the Xbox Backup Creator window make sure your drive for burning is selected from the drop down menu. Xbox Backup Creator will now find out wht type of disk youve got in that drive, free space etc etc
4. Under XBOX ISO TYPE make sure you have chosen XBOX 360
5.The start button should now be clickable, Click it
6. A new window should open asking you to choose .DVD file for burning. Theres a drop down menu near the bottom of it, select .001 file type from the drop down menu.
7. Select the .0001 file and click open, and it will start burning.
