im a noob at this guys....so please bare with me huh? ok...i have the samsung drive in my 360...i wanna know if i buy a Samsung SH-S182D and I do a straight rip of my games from this to my HD and then burn back to DL DVD+R.....what is my exact process?? would i skip so of the extra stuff?? would i really have to flash my samsung from the 360 still?? if someone has already posted an answer similar to this i apologize for asking again...i was reading earlier today but didn't get to finish everything...just PM me with the info if you don't wanna re-type it.....that is if you can help! thanks in advance!!

You need to flash your 360's drive in order for it to play backups.....period. Theres no way around that unless you buy a mod chip and install it.

Doed anyone know if it is possible to make a copy of an already copied Xbox 360 game? what program would I use and what do I have to do would I have to hot-swap again?

I've tried makeing back-ups of 360 games before and with the real disc there is never a problem but with a burned copy when it makes the file it's only 1 file with no extensions .iso or .dvd are not there it's just the name I saved it as with no extension!?!?!? I've used CloneCD IMGburn xbox back-up creator tells me when I go to back-up the game that it is not a real 1 to 1 copy whatever that means? can anyone help me out? I've never actually had a reply to any of my questions at the very least can someone reply just to make sure I am doing posting this right.

first off you are posting correctly :)
second try this and see if it works
use clonecd, put the disc in the dvd drive and select read to image file...that will put the image on your hdd along w/ a .dvd file...then open the .dvd file in clonecd and burn.

YES!!!!!!!!!! it worked perfectly I wasn't letting CloneCD close the disc tray I bet that was the problem thanks alot Koolyoe

glad it worked :) Ive been up all night trying to flash my damn 360 with MS28 Samsung drive but my some reason it will not see my 360's drive .

OK, all I am only so literate in computers I use it for limewire and online poker, some word and other applications . But when I got my 360 a friend told me about a guy who can does the mod. so I got it done. I read the tutorial, but I am having trouble. Ive downloaded the game using azoreus. it was in rar, so I used WinRAR clicked wizard, extracted and moved the files into my desktop. the files still appear to be rar'ed, are they? also The whole iso has me confused. do I have to set up the iso before I download, and if so how do I do that. If not what do I do. I downloaded c-xbox tools but am lost. I also have ss merger 1.7. and clone cd. "I tried to find the nfo file but get system information cannot open file. It might be corrupted or un recognized version."
It seems to me my main problem is with the whole iso issue I m missing a step here "the tutorial doesn't get into the iso issue. Please help!!!

m$ said they were going to stop this firmware hack with an update a year ago! how come they still havent done it? i know its possibal for microsoft to stop it so why cant they or why havent they yet?
and if im wrong ... :(

thanks...... now I need to know how to find the ss.bin file i went to ubclass it wasn't there for call of duty 3. if its not there does that mean it doesnt need to be patched how would I know for future refrence. And if I do get the ss number do I just copy and paste to required ss number?

Hi to everybody i will appreciate any help. I try to burn a downloaded from the internet back up of a xbox 360 game and burn it with cd clone. Here r the problems. my dvd rom drive is a pioneer 108, and my xbox 360 is moded with nme 360 chip. i patch the downloaded image with nme associator and burn it with cd clone the procedure was ok but my xbox 360 refused to read it. i try to burn with image burn but after i patced with (nme associator) says that is not sapported. I believe the wrong with cd clone is that i didnt put the image.dvd but when i try to put this image and not the image.000 doesnt give the option next. Anybody knows?

help i've downloaded a 360 game un rard it and got the dvd file and an image file. when i try to open the dvd file wilth clonecd it says error opeing .iso system can't find the file specified . can any one tell me why and is it still possable to make a back up useing the image file ??

who knows....I'm now of the opinion that they locked down their system so tight that they shot their own foot & they can't thrawt this hack, thus, the reason they're releasing new dvd drives that are "unhackable" (but, the hackers have already cracked 'em)
futhermore, why ask why....just enjoy it while you can.....'cause one day they will be able to counter this hack, but, so far they can't or won't (prolly for various reasons).

make sure you're using the latest version of ccd and make sure the .dvd file and image are in the same dir.

I think I'm in the same situation as chef there. Altought I have the Iso, burned it and disc was unreadable. I didnt patch it though becuase counldnt find the ss code should the image have the cd and a text behind it image, also when I make my iso there isnt the whole amount of g.b bytes there is that normal. Plaese help. blew my last 200 dollars getting moded buying a new burner and dl dvds.

ok sorry but i need to let this out. most people just come and throw questions instead of reading. we the people that understand this better dont do it just asking other people, we READ. sorry to the people that are reading this and dont deserve it, but it is really tiresome to have most forums infested with noob stupid questions about 'OMG! i downloaded a game and burnt it, it didnt work! what to do' or 'OMG how can i play a back up?' oh and yeah 'OMG how do i burn a .000 file'. im tired of you and believe me, tons of people like me are as well. read as much as we did and youll have all your answers. dont ask over and over again the same things that have been answered a thousand times, you spam these places. it's not that we (the people that read) don't have questions, it is that we google problems before asking and spamming with noobidity. for gods sake , questions like 'why clonecd doesnt take an image' have been answered a billion times in a billion forums. read, research, then if you dont find the answer or you find a new problem, post and ask.

Please the world of computing help me...
I have read the posts on burning/ripping 360 games and I still can not get any thing to work. When I put the game? in to my 360 which I paid to have modded at the bottom of the screen it says game, but when I try to run/play it it says the disk is dirty. I bought a DVD-ROM drive a SAUMSUNG SH-D 162 updated the firm ware a tried to dump the image to my computer, it failed. When I try and use XBOX360 SS Merger 1.50 with downloaded games it throws up a long error which I do not understand. When I download a game how do I know if its pre-patched or not. Some one help me I can not afford to buy games/keep on throwing away D/L disks as they are not that cheep. I was also told as my 360 has a sumsung? drive I could use single layer disks, is this true as I put in a xbox game that works of xbox1 and that did the same thing.

Look I am really sorry but I have read pages of stuff and I can not work it out. Maybe I am a little (or a big bit) stupid. But I really can not work it out. Maybe someone could email me a link to an IDIOTS GUIDE to this. I had no problems with xbox games but this is really messing with my mind. Some of the games have the .dvd file and these dont work either

make sure your dvd burner supports bitsetting, you'll need to bitset to dvd-rom when burning on DVD+R DL for 360 games. If you happen to have a Pioneer burner you won't need to, they auto bitset dual layer media. You can check if a 360 image that you downloaded is patched by either:
1) Reading the nfo (most releases you download should have one)
2) By loading the image in Xbox Backup Creator (download here http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox360-tools/XboxBackupCreator.php)
when burning make sure you load the .dvd file in either the latest version of CloneCD or ImgBurn.

I believe if you have the newest xtreme firmware 5.2 any one a,b,c,d then you dont have to booktype anymore. At least you dont on a Samsung Drive not sure about the hitachi drives, but i have never set my booktype to dvd-rom I use a LiteOn DVD DL Burner. My 360 reads them fine.
