Tutorial: How To Burn XBox360 Games

Hey,
I just flashed a Hitachi drive xbox 360,
I burnt a game to a Verbatim disk at 2.4x
I tried to play it in my xbox and it jsut says unplayable disk,
I know the game works because it plays in my samsung Xbox 360/
Any ideas on how to get the game working?

off topic a minute....hi guys, wondered if anyone has had this prob. my friends xbox360 was modded, and plays ALL copies and originals, EXCEPT Gears of War special edition....YET it plays on MY xbox360 which was modded at same time by same person??? could it be a disc drive issue?..anyone know of an update he may need?? thanx,,,

Hi. Does anyone have a website which you can download the SS bin files? The one in the tutorial doesnt work.
I have the merger program but came up with errors when i tried to extract the SS files from the game.I used DVD info to extract it.
If anyone has any sites which work,can you please post.
Im also having problems burning .iso, and .360 game files.
The files which come with the image which are used with clone cdwork fine. but iso/img files by themselves do not seem to work on my 360. It always says my disk is dirty when i put it in the 360 drive.
Sorry if these question have already been answered, but i havent the time to read 56 pages of comments.

Did you make sure you have booktyped your DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM before burning?Because if not,it won't play on your hitachi drive but will on the samsung.

hey guys i was wondering if someone can help me out here i have a modded 360 already and i use verbatim DVD+R DL but ive had to use multiple dvd's and programs i.e. clone cd and img burn ect. and some work and some dont so im gettin tired of it and i now ordered a Pioneer DVR-111D so my question is what type of firmware do i need for the Pioneer DVR-111D and where can i get it.....please let me kno or P.M. me

Burning question here...
I got a bunch of files with numeric extensions...001, 002 etc. I've been told to extract them using WinRAR. So when i click on one of the files, A WinRAR window appears with two files, One says Image.000, the other says image.dvd.
What is the procedure from this point?

I have a pioneer 111d does i still need to booktype DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM
Because i thought it was done automatically with this drive?
And how do i booktype to DVD-ROM?
Could someone help me out

If you're using pioneer drive,then you don't need to worry about booktyping,it has already booktyped your media automatically to DVD-ROM.I thought you were using a different one.
What about before?Do other verbatim discs burned at the same speed work on your hitachi?

so all i need to do is get the burner put it into my computer and burn with a verbatim and it will work no problem ? no need to configure anything no special nothings? cuz i remember reading someone saying something about using a pioneer 111d with (1.23 FirmWare)so ur sure 100% that the one it comes with will work ?

no, I'm not 100% certain. but, you shouldn't have to flash w/ newer firmware, but, it probably wouldn't hurt anything.

I used to get the same thing sometimes.Select both and extract them to a specific folder of your choice.Then you just load that dvd file in clonecd and burn.

This is the first backup ive burnt on verbatims
Ive not been buying them before,
Ive been using bulkpaqs on my Samsung drive,
I flashed my firends Hitachi drive
Thats why i bought verbatims,
Because the bulkpaqus werent reading,
Hes bought a replacement Samsung drive for his xbox off ebay,
and ill be swapping them for him when it comes.
I was just wondering,
The hitachi not reading verbatims, could this just be caused by an old laser?
Because when i opened up the XBOX 360, on the DVD Drive it said it was made Novemeber 2005

man, the answer is in this thread....
open the .dvd file w/ the latest version of imgburn or clonecd and burn.

Hi!My console too has the hitachi drive 47DJ and the manufacturing date is same as yours,i.e,November 2005,but it does play all my backups made on Verbatim without any problem.But i did get unreadable disks with some other particular brands(a bit crappy ones),that's why i swapped to Verbatim because it's well known for being the number one in DL disks and for working flawlessly on any drive.
Now may be your problem may be due to a bad flash and you need to reflash it correctly.But about flashing i don't know anything about that because i got my console already flashed,first they told me it was chipped but when one day one of my friend opened my drive,there was no chip at all,it was just a simple firmware flash and that's better for me:)
You said that your friend will order a samsung drive off ebay and replace the hitachi by it.Well i don't say it's impossible(may be it is)but that's a lot of complicated work to do and a lot of procedures.You can't just remove the hitachi and just put the samsung drive like that in your console for it to work properly.You can make a little search over AD here in the xbox360 section,i remember there was a question about how to do and if it's possible to swap the hitachi with a different one.

Hitachi 47dj is the exact drive my friend has,
Im prettys ure the problem was not caused by a bad flash as i used both Maximus' And Birdies firmware but neither would play the games.
Its too late now though anyway as my friend purchased the Samsung dirve on monday,
I know exactly how to replace drives,
I have already patched a firmware with his drive key etc etc
So now we'll just wait for it to come (being shupped from Hong Kong)
And we'll see how it goes

That's strange that the verbs are not working with your hitachi.But as you said,the samsung drive will be on its way soon and let's just crosser fingers that everything will be fine then.You seem pretty goods with these kind of stuffs,unlike me,i'm just too afraid opening the console myself and to accidentally mess up things.
