hi everyone
im very much new to 360 modding and would like to learn how to do my own back up's first off i would like to say that im very slow at learning.
i have got a pioneer 111d drive with 1.29 fw i also have imgburn but from here im at a loss as to where i can download games and fix them or if they are fix and or can just download torrents ready to burn would beable to tell me as to what dvds i need or will any DVD+R DL disk do !!! i would very grateful for someone to explain to me in very easy steps

Hey im new to this, i just had my 360 modded. i downloaded a game from btjunkie but i dont get where the iso file is or the ss. can some one please help.

I guess you've got a bunch of rar files.Check here how to proceed and for the burning process check at the very first page of this thread where you've posted.

@bigygsu37 may u should join somewhere like blackcats and save ure self some time the games there come pre patched and ready to burn i did my first one today

im new to hackin xbox360 and i was woundering if there isnt a safer way of instaling firmare on it (not opening it up), i have a 8gig flash usb drive could that be of any help?

no, you have to open the 360 and hook up your dvd drive to a sata port on your comp...make sure your sata chipset is supported or your pc won't recognize the drive.
also, fyi to all of you...the week of May 7th MS is releasing the spring update....be careful if you take the update and decide to connect to xbl.

how can what kind of drive you have? i download the game used clone cd and load it nothing happen wrong disk. please hep

it's a required update, so if you want to use xbl you have to update.
on sunday a new firmware by c4e will be released for samsung drives
only....this is to respond to a possible detection check that MS may incorporate into the spring update.
again, it won't be known until the week of may 7th what, if any, backup detection MS incorporated into the spring update.
take it for what it's worth, determine how you wanna proceed. Again, MS may or may not incorporate some type of backup deterrent in the spring update.
btw, I got this info in #fw on efnet.

Hey, my friend flashed my other friend's xbox and it worked fine. But when he flashed mine with the same drive, it doens't work. I can only read the burned games 1/20 tries. I can read the single layer kinds but having problems with the double layer. Can anybody please help me out? Thanks!!!

You could have a bad drive. I remember my first dvd-rom drive (Samsung) in my old computer had the exact same problem. It would only read single layer dvd's and not dual/double layer ones. I just tossed it. Are you having problems playing original games?
As for this new update for xbox live, I can confirm that the update does work with the firmware upgrade without any problems. I got too impatient to wait for the update so I flashed the drive the night before the update. Scary stuff but it works perfectly.

Nero doesn't support .dvd cue files, so no.
use ImgBurn or CloneCD (CloneDVD won't work ;)

You may all know this already, but 2 new firmware's for shitachi drives were released. One from Commodore4Eva (see this link for more details - http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=602434) and another from Maximus & GaryOPA (see this link for more details - http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=602508) (if you decide to get Maximess Toolkit, be sure to get the repack)
I can confirm that Commodore4Eva's release works no problem, now we'll have to see how MS responds to all of this. Word to the wise, if you've downloaded Crackdown stay away from the Halo 3 beta that comes out on the 16th.

it's not because of the new fw....there's some speculation as to what MS is looking for to ban consoles, long story short, if you haven't been banned yet and are using hacked firmware don't play any games ON or OFFLINE till the new fw is released by C4e...also, it doesn't look good for shitachi:

Hi there
This might be a stupid question, but i just can't make it work. I've downloaded one succesfull game so far, which had a .dvd file and a .iso. That worked well. But the last 4 games i've downloaded only contains .001 files up to around .070 or something, some par2 files, a .nfo file and a .sfv file. How do i burn this onto a disc?
I've already tried to join the files with HJsplit, but that didn't help.
