Tutorial: How To Burn XBox360 Games

Firstly can i say a BIG THANX to all who replied to my rather long post bout the problems i was having burning 360 games.With your help (& abit of tinkering),i have managed to suss it AND keep all of my hair!!! (seemed to have no problems since updating my firmware to iXtreme 1.2)
Now for the new problem,as you are all probably aware by now the Colin Mcrae Dirt file that is all over the net hasnt been stealth patched,so i was just wondering how i would go about putting the patch into my downloaded game file as i now have both the game & patch sat on my PC!!!I have been told its not rocket science but am a bit dubious bout trying it myself,without a lil bit of guidance cos of all the blank DLs i have already wasted!!!Do i extract game file then drop patch in,extract patch into extracted game file or is it something completely different???Help would be much appreciated, Thanx
PS Does anybody know whether this is released in any other part of the globe B4 the UK?I already know that its Multi-Region but i aint putting a game in that hasnt been released anywhere in the world,wud B kinda dumb in light of recent events!!! Thanx again

OK my AXbox 360 was just caught by microsoft or something because I can't go on the internet anymore!? is there a way to get around this and get my xbox 360 back on the net without buying a new one?.
My friend and I both have the same Firmware on our samgsung drivers but his is still working and mine doesn't. When it came to all the online part all I ever did was play games he on the other hand bought microsoft points and bought arcade games, movies, extras to games and all that other stuff where I never did. could it be that the reason he still has xbox 360 live is because he spends money so they are still makeing money on him where they weren't on me so they just banned me?

it's been patched, but it may not have been done right OR it may be a new video partition. stay away from dirt until it's known.

you need to get a new box. it may be that he played all properly stealth patched games and you didn't. when you get a new box, if you decide to flash it's fw, make sure you use ixtreme.

i need help here...im a total newb....i had my 360 flashed by a guy....he burnt me a couple games..works perfectly.....now the guy wont answer his phone so i cant get games from him....im trying to do it on my own.....i downloaded WinRAR and the xbox 360 merger i already have clone cd...now im wondering how do you get games...from a program like utorrent?? cause thats what i have .... I forget what drive i have....the guy told me i have the drive thats less detectable by microsoft... i forget if it was samsung or hitchi...im downloading a game now from utorrent if thats what im suppose to be doing....i have read through the tutorial...i will just have to wait till the game is done downloading to try it......Is there a way just to make copies of games??.....that seems it would be alot easier......i will most likely be back here asking questions when im done downloading the game....any tips are great appreciated!!

Sorry, i'm a real noob at this sort of thing. I've read the tutorial and will try and follow it once my download has done but i'd just like to make sure i've got the process clear in my head. After i download it, if it's already patched, i just open up the .ISO fiel using CloneCD and rip it to a dual layer DVD. If it needs to be patched, i must use SS merger, and once that process is complete, do the same?

It sounds as if i'm in exactly the same boat as you apart from the fact that i'm that tight i'm fed yp of paying £5 for my games when i can do them myself. Hope you manage to do it :D

if you're not using a burner that auto bitsets dual layer media to dvd-rom (pioneer does this automatically) you'll need to do that 1st, then open the .dvd file (not the iso) w/ clonecd and burn.

if your drive auto bitsets it does it automatically o_0
you need to find out if your drive supports bitsetting, if it does, download and install dvdinfopro:
"To set the booktype in DVDInfoPro: Start DVDInfoPro Click on the ?+RW? icon on the top row Select DVD-ROM Press button marked "Change +RDL Mode" Press Close
Now whenever a DVD+R DL is burned it will be bitset to read like a DVD-ROM. BE AWARE: If you start Nero or similar that can also change the bitsetting, make sure Nero is set to "unmodified" or "current recorder setting", found in Recorder-> Choose Recorder then select the drive and click on "Options""

I'd like to thank everyone who has replied to my posts for help, I got everything working, didn't have to change anything except burning the .dvd file instead of the .iso file, im such an idiot.

of course you do, unzip the files with WinRAR then burn with what ever prog you like, I recommend imgburn or clonecd.

you should end up w/ @ least 2 files:
1) the image
2) .dvd file
open the .dvd file w/ imgburn and burn

I have the two files and successfully burn them to a DVD+R DL with ImgBurn, but I got an "uplayable disc" error from 360. Why doesn't it work????? Is there a way to fix these file.

1) check the correct layer break (read these forums for this)
2) check the correct book type is used (dvd-rom)
3) check that DMA is on your IDE channel for your burner
4) check the validity of your image using xbox backup creator.

For some reasons, the games that I downloaded with .000 extension work fine. I did not change any setting. I'm having problem with the .iso extension. Is there a way to convert the format? Thanks.

make sure the .dvd file is correct:
If you are missing the .dvd file for a release, you can make one in notepad
Currently, the layerbreak for all 360 games is the same, and the .dvd only requires 2 lines as follows:
LayerBreak=1913760
imgname.iso
also, make sure the .dvd file and the image reside in the same dir.

Just to throw it out there for people new to this.....a dvd file isnt even necessary. If you are using imgburn, simply manually enter the lay break that was previously mentioned by gehx under tools-settings-write
Do it once and you are good for life.

alright i need some help...i downloaded a game and i opened the folder and in it is 70 icons and they read "dnl-poce.001 all the way up to dnl-poce.070.. i have WinRAR clone cd and xbox merger but im not sure on what to do now

Thanks so much for all replies. I do have the .dvd file along with the .000 and/or .iso file. Both file formats burned fine without any error with ImgBurn. But the .iso format does not play in the 360. And they are already pre-patched. ?????

Is this a good dvd burner? _NEC DVD_RW ND-3540A. Will it be able to burn xbox 360 games?
Please have in mind that im a noob at this, first time playing around with this and i only have one 8.5 DVD to burn with so i wanna do it right.
Please help!

Please resize those images,
people with slower internet may have lots of trouble viewing this page.
EDIT: I think your image is prepatched, the current ss box is filled in so i dotn even think you need to patch it,
just go ahead and burn the game,
if your still proper sketchy about burning now try running stealth check on Xbox Backup Creator it will tell you if ss is present

yeah it was. and i tryd to burn it useing cloneCD and it fucking stopped after 19 min! Fuck. that was my only dvd cd left!. what went wrong, i did it just the way they it said in the description!
