It could be your burner if you used to burn ps2 games like crazy,

When you next get some disks try Xbox Backup Creator,
it tells you if you have a power calibration error before the burns starts so you dont waste a disk.

right click .001, hit open. Drag and drop the iso/.dvd file where ever you want.

I bet that was the 1000000000000000 time that has been answered!

After you selected WinRAR as the associated prog, the rar will open and you will see those two files you mentioned. Drag them on to the desktop. The .dvd file will take <1 second, the .iso will take around 10 minutes.

there is something i don't understand here. why are you asking when it's been said the last 55 pages? maybe the reason why there is 60 pages is because people never read.

Im a noob

Just because the disc says 360 infinity, doesnt mean they are for the 360, or will work on them. Verbatims all the way my friend. I know they are a rip off, but i suppose thats the beauty of "Supply and demand" marketing..if there is a market for a product, that everyone is adamant they want, you can charge what you want....look on eBay and you see the prices have shot up...used to be 34 quid(ish) for 25 verbatims, now they are nearer 47 quid. I have used a different make, which did work, but only on my 360 and not a mates. I will be transferring them all over to verbatims when money permits as i dont want a knackered laser after a couple of months.....The advice I was given on here a few weeks ago was this "You are getting your games for virtually nothing so stop being a tight wad and buy the verbatims". Seems to get the point across.

Nothing to see here, move along please

Right, my Forza 2's finished downloading so i'm about to burn. Just want to check the process - Because my torrent is pre patched i need to .....
1. WinRAR the .dvd and .iso files
2. Open up the .dvd file from CloneCd
3. Burn - preferably at a low speed

Need to get this right as i've only got 2 dvd's at the minute. Can someone tell me if i've got that wrong.
Thanks

Hey guys....anyone else run into this problem...probably just something I've done wrong but when I try to load ixtreme1.2 with xtremebootmaker I get an error saying:

Import Failed!

Did I miss a step in there? Is there something I need to do to xtremebootmaker to get it to open this file? I'm just starting this but I'm not cutting any corners or going cheap on anything. I paid my roommate off to swap my hitachi 360 for his samsung, I bought a samsung d162c with kreon, bought the pioneer 112d, a new sata card, and verbatim DL disks. Not to mention overnight shipping for everything. Any help would be great.

Ok....here's my update...good news for other newbies. I just completed flashing my xbox 360 with ixtreme1.2, copied forza 2, and burned it on a workable cd. I have a samsung ms28 drive. The things I used were:

VIA VT6421 SATA chip ($16.00, Newegg.com)
Pioneer 112D ($31.00, Newegg.com
Samsung D162C flashed with kreon .81 ($35, ebay.com)
Verbatim DL disks ($8.00, 3 pack, Wal-mart)
1gb flashdrive ($20.00, bestbuy)

Programs:
Xtreme Boot Maker w/ ixtreme1.2 update (both from 360hax.com)
(I couldn't get XBM to recognize ixtreme1.2 until I got this version from this site)
xbox backup creator (I used this for reading and burning)
Microsoft .NET Framework v2
Download guide:

http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/details/id=61.html

All those programs have links for them in that guide. It appears that if you just spend the money you need to and get these things (about $100 if you get the the right things at the right places....well worth it).
The only thing I had to change was I did not turn off my 360 while in DOS after the reading process was completed....The firmware is newer than the guide is and it has changed a little. It should ask you to start flash right after it is done reading. Hope this helps the other newbs like me who are doing this for the first time.

Why are you using CloneDVD????? This whole thread people have been advocating imgburn and clonecd. Pretty sure CloneDVD is why you have issues. Just my 2 cents.

Just tried using ImgBurn and i get this error after inserting the blank media and attemptiong to write -

Failed to write sectors 0 - 31 - Cannot write medium - Incompatible format

It is the .iso file i;m trying to burn right and not the .dvd?
Any suggestions?

Do it once and you are good for life.

Alright, im new here...this is my first post.
Of course its the "i need help" post.

i have a modded 360 with the ixtreme fw that just came out after the new live bans.

ive been playing back up games on verb. DL dvd's perfectly fine, but would now like to attempt this myself.

i have CloneCD
i have a .rar file with the .iso file in it
the drive in my 360 is a Samsung

my questions are...

i know that i need a specific DL DVD writer in order to burn the games, and ive found a link to this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...cription=27-129

a question concerning the burner, does it matter which one of those on that page i get? i would rather get the black one, SATA.

the next question is...

what other programs do i need in order to do this?

i appreciate any help i can get, thanks.
