Josh i went and got the pioneer dvr112d burner i'm using verbatim dl dvds andit says writing successful when using xbc2.5 and clonecd yet when i put them in my 360 i still get that stupid message "toplay this disc put it in a 360 console" i have some backup games and my 360 is chipped out yet the ones i burn still won't work can u help me before i tape my 360 to my computer and throw themboth out the window

SO hi!

Hey everybody - great thread, thanks for all the info so far.
I have two questions which I hope someone can answer...
- What is a good external DVD DL Burner to buy for burning backup 360 discs? Brand, model etc. Really I'd want the cheapest, most reliable one.
- Will downloaded NTSC backups work on my Pal flashed 360? I am running it through VGA on a monitor.

I have a problem with the initial loading of the md5 it fails it wont work what do i do from there becuase this is really burning my ass and i would like to know what to do. Can someone help me all the way through it

I have never met a video file thats failed before,
but i would suggest not trying to burn that file,
If you ripped the game, try ripping it again.
If you downloaded it, download it again but from a different group/source etc

Firstly, dont go for cheap, i did a few times and i wasnt happy!
I dont know if you can get a Pioneer 112d in external,
but if you cant id buy an external enclosure and put that drive in it.
Or, itd probably work out cheaper but youd have an intenral drive just sat about on your desk or something, get one of these;

To answer your second question, even though running through vga,
your PAL xbox 360 would not read the disk if it is NTSC,
they may never be able to,
but maybe a new firmware is created enable-ing us to. probably wont happen for a while though.

Hi Guys
Can somebody for the love of god help me out. I have purchased th verbatim -R DL dvd's and i have wasted 2 already.
In my xbox 360 i have the Mod 360 chip, I have burnt an ISO of bioshock which is PAL using cloneCD However it does not work i get an error saying please insert dvd into an original xbox 360.
What am i doing wrong, am i missing something vital. please help.

Guys i had no problem burning Stranglehold and playing it... but somehow... after performing the system update from that game...
and i tried to play other games that i burnt (Stuntman Ignition)... the xbox360 can't seem to read that disc... once i click "close tray" after few seconds it will say "Open tray"...
does anyone know why that would happen???

You need to be using dvd+r dl

Im not much on expert on this,
i dont know what the error is called, ive forgoten,
The error im thinking of can be fixed pretty easily with samsung drives.
You just have to downdate the firmware to like xtreme 3.something
Can someone help me out here who knows more about it...

Thx the help Josh!
I just remembered... right b4 i finish burning Stuntman Ignition using Imgburn... an error pop up saying something like "error finalizing burn"
once i click "continue"... the disc pop out and an message saying the disc was successfully burnt...
would rebuilding the ISO help? using XDVDMulleter 7?

Hello guys, i have just gotten my xbox 360 modded... and the i followded this guide to burn the games... in which the first one was Call of Duty 3.... It wouldn't work the first time i put the dvd in, and the second time i put it in, it worked fine...
Anyways then i got perfect dark zero... burnt it, and it said unplayable disc... then i realized the dvd had a nasty stracth on it, so i decided to burn it again, and also use the xdvdmulleter to check if it's up the the latest iXtreme security things... i used the beta 9 version... and it said everything was fine and it said iXtreme compatible... and i burnt it and again, it wouldn't work
So i was wondering if u guys could help me to figure out what went wrong... i'm too scared to waste another dvd since i paid like 30 bux for a 10 pack (Verbatim +)
ps. u know how there is a .iso file and a .dvd file... When i burnt CoD 3, i piced the .dvd file... and the last both times for the perfect dark zero game, i picked the .iso file, in clonecd... I doubt that it makes a difference, i'm still just puttin it out there

i just realized that some ppl on the board (mostly with ixtreme 1.2c) say that it worked for them... i don't understand why this wouldn't work for me

Josh765 thank you for your answer. Thought I'd go with that Pioneer drive and buy an external enclosure for around £10. Great help thanks.
Shame that a lot of the downloadable backups are usually in NTSC :(

always open the .dvd file in imgburn or clonecd to burn, the .dvd file is like a cue, it tells the burning software where the layerbreak is.
I don't Usenet, it uses me.

i had a feeling that might have been the problem... (even though i don't know layerbreak is)
the tutorial said to point to the iso... so that's what i did..
Anyways i still don't wanna waste another dvd... i wanna wait for a couple of other ppl to confirm this...

the layer break is where the security sector is inserted...do what you want, what I told you is the truth and the way it is.

Now that you've said that i jsut think youve had a bad burn,
But in the post before you said you couldnt play others you could play before
So i still think that you have got the error i mentioned in my last post.

You should always burn using the .dvd file, end of.
A few pages back i wrote down how to burn using the ISO,
if you really want to burn usign the ISO do some searching and find it.

Thats what i would have done.
If you cant find enough PAL releases, get yourself into a private torrent site.
And sorry you can not trade invites in this thread, its against the rules.

Ripping would be amazing but i only have 1 drive and I really dont understand the hotswapping thing.
Is there no way just to plonk a 360 disk in my drive rip a .iso to the hard drive then burn in to a blank??

for the above question, there is a way to burn them apparently using the pc drive go to you tube and type xbox 360 burning or something like that and you see a guy ripping it in a three part video

hello there :)
i got a little question.. didn't wanna read through 66 pages lol!
i ordered my 360 yesterday, it's premodded with a NME360 1.1 chip.
just extracted stranglehold.. hehe.
so now for the burning, what are the exact steps?
1.apply the ss.bin with the ss merger
2.use the NME associator
3.burn the dvd file with clonecd / imgburn
4.play?
did i get that right?
and yeah, another question. is it safe right now to play burned games on XBL?

Im in the same situation as you, i have just ordered the Pioneer 112 to burn my games without the bit setting being a factor.
My question is not where do i get the SS file from and do i need it since i downloaded the game from pirate bay *note i own the game*
I dont want to bun another coaster here so can somebody please tell me if i need the ss file for this and where do i get it from.
I know the following procedure so far
Convert to NME
Change bit setting
Burn using Imgburn
use +r dl media by verbatim
now i assume i can burn straight with imagebun no need to mess about with settings since its a pioneer, or would you guys suggest i just used clonecd for this one?

Those are the right steps to burn a succesful backup, yes.
To answer your question i dont know wether its safe to play XBL with the chip,
I know with the firmwares you can update to "safer" ones.
I dont know if you can update the chip or anything. sorry.

You do not need to bitset with pioneer.
If using imageburn still make sure your only burning the with the .dvd file.
Otherwise the burner wont know when to change layers whilst burning.
