n1co_z,
I'd think twice about requesting help to download copyrighted games which, by the way, has nothing to do with the thread topic.

Hello all-
I have been trying to burn Assassin's Creed. The download came with a .iso and a .dvd. I loaded the .dvd into CloneCD and hit burn...after about 5 minutes, it comes up with a very vague error message that simply states that burning has failed.
I used DVDInfoPro to verify that my DVD drive has the ability to burn DVD+R DL and I am using Memorex media.
Anyone know what the problem is?

what burner u using?
the dvd quality might be the problem, your best bet is to get like a 5 pack of verbatim disks, and see if that works.

The drive is generic looking, has no brand label on the front of it. In DVD Info Pro and in CloneCD it labels it this:
E:\LITE-ON DVDRW LH-16W1P
I was thinking it was probably the media but from everything I've read I should be at least able to finish burning the damn thing, even if the Xbox can't play it, you know?

I seem to have found the problem; after I failed a few dozen times with CloneCD, I tried IMGBurn and Nero. They both give me the same error message:
"Power Calibration Error"
I did a little research. This error message means that the quality of discs I am using is too low to burn onto it. Basically, Memorex DVD's are crap. Don't waste your money on them.
I'll be back after I've tried a few Verbatims.

Power Calibration Errors can also be the result a dying drive or a need to upgrade the firmware. New firmwares often add support and/or improved performance with new and existing media types.

I searched for updated firmware for my drive through DVDInfoPro and the only updated firmware was made to unlock region-specific software for it, which I have no reason to do. I will definitely be buying the Pioneer 111D and Verbatims this week, however. Does anyone know if there is updated firmware to download for the Pioneer drive?

Hey, thanks for the tutorial.
I have one question, how exactly do I tell if my game is patched or not? I checked the info file, but it just says a description of the game and the file size. My download came with a .dvd File and a .iso file.
Thanks.

Generally, if the download includes a .dvd file, it has already been patched.

I don't know if Tweeder is still around or if anyone cares, but I found Tweeder's tutorial on another forum, only without the pictures. It's clearly been stolen, here it is.

Hi There
A friend of mine gave me a few burned games and I tried to burn them from disc to disc. Is that possible? I used DVD Decryptor and entered the ISO value from there I proceeded to burn the image (MDS), however when I finished burning the software it wouldn't play on my XBOX360.
I used a DVD-R DL disc and burned it at 2X.
Can you help me?
thanks so much

@pastaboy
I have a pioneer 111d myself and i have crossflashed with firmware 111L,
this is not necessary to burn 360 games,
the pioneer firmware works fine,
the only reason i flashed to 111L was when i wanted to burn DVD+R disks as DVD-ROM to burn xbox 1 games for the 360,
u cannot do that on the new ixtreme firmware at the moment so it is no longer necessary.
In my opinion the Power Calibration Errors will go when u buy the new drive and verbatim disks, it did with me.
However i have had powercalibration errors with my 111d,
stick to verbs dont even waste the £20 on cheapo disks.
@haugse23
To get the xtreme firmware you have to go on Xbins which is an IRC channel.
The easiest way to get an xbins is to use an automatic connector app,
Download: http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/details/id=29.html
You can use that app to connect to xbins and download the firmware update.
I wouldnt even dream of using ss merger anymore,
Use it DVDMULLETER its much better.

Right click one of the RAR files and select EXTRACT HERE,
you should end up with a .DVD or a .ISO/.000 etc file in the folder with your rar files.
Burn the dvd fiel you get after doping this.
But because your nfo is corrupt i would suggest checking the ISO details with DVDMULLETER.
@HxC
Sorry pastaboy but having a .dvd file doeant mean the game is patched.
You can check wether the ISO is patched with DVDMULLETER.
(download link above if you dotn have it)
How to check ISO details with DVDMULLETER
(sorry no pics)
1.Open DVDMULLETER
2.Choose VIEW ISO DETAILS from the list on the main window, click NEXT
3.Click the LOAD FROM FILE TAB, then click the BROWSE button
4.Open the ISO which you wanna know wether its patched or not. Click NEXT
5.Look at the window and see what it has to say about your ISO.
@hpansar
You can make copies of Xbox 360 games using CLONECD, well that i think is the easiest way.
Heres a link to thread all about your question
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/535714
@gerfty
The cause of this may be the fact that you have assoicated ISO files with WINRAR,
You could be extracting the ISO file without noticing by accident.
Check and see if ISO files are associated with WINRAR.
Think thats every unanswered question answered!

Thanks josh765, really appreciate the help. I have a question about PAL vs. NTSC. My XBOX is modded and I just recently burned Kigdom under fire the PAL type. Can that be played on a modded XBOX or do the games all have to be NTSC type?
thanks

If your xbox 360 is NTSC then it can only play NTSC games
If your xbox 360 is PAL then it can only play PAL games
This tru for modded consoles aswell you can only play the same region games as your xbox 360.

Turns out I didn't even need to get the Pioneer, as soon as I started using Verbatims I had no problems whatsoever.

One more question, kind of a silly one too because im sure this is asked all the time. How can you take original games like Madden 08 and burn it to a verbatim disk?
thanks
