Okay, I need help guys.

I have been able to backup my own games for about a year now using CloneCD. All the games have all sectors and are stealth patched.

The games work perfect on my Samsung iXtreme flashed 360 and on my friends BenQ iXtreme flashed 360. Neither of us have been banned on Live.

Twice now, i have tried the working games on other peoples 360's and got the "disc unreadable" error. 1 of the 360's had the updated iXtreme flash and the other had an older version from before the banning.

Anyone get this problem?

I have a 360 backup game that was patch for the sammy. Now I have a Benq firmware ixtreme 1.41, but this game cant play in my Benq. The question is can a read the disc in to an ISO to my PC then prepatch using XDVDMulleter and the necessary patches for this game? and then copy to a disc USING CLONE CD.

if a burned 360 game will work on one ixtreme then it should work on any other of the same version, your friend maybe incorrect about the version of his firmware

older version from before the banning

if its a recent game then it won't work on outdated firmware, duh!
many games will run on my ixtreme but wont read on my older xtreme

well this is a nutter, i find that some drives have more difficulty reading certain media (Hitachi just wont read maxwell!!) you are burning on verbatim correct? otherwise the only other thing i could suggest would be to power cycle the console, sometimes my 360 will give me a read error, i just unplug it from the power source and wait 10 minutes

really if the disc can be read on one ixtreme then it should be able to
be read on your friends ixtreme (same version), try running other games on it)

if the 360 just wont read any games burnt or not reflash it!

Ill have him try the power cycle.

The games are indeed on Verbatim's, and made at 2x speed.
Could the speed be the problem?

you did say it was reading on your 360 right?
nah 2x is fine, some people go to an extreme and burn at 1x but i dont think thats needed!

disc read errors might also be the fault of the 360's os, there have been reports of the cache overflowing and thus causeing save errors, freezing, bad audio play back and such

although there have been no report of disc read errors due to a cache overflow on the original firmware who know how it react on the ixtreme

so you can also try to empty your friends cache
Quote:
to clear the xbox 360's memory cache,
1. go to the system blade on your menu(should be the very last one)
2. go down to were it says memory, click on it. this should bring up your hard drive or other storage devices, press a on the one you want to empty
3. once youve gotten to the screen were it shows rename or format your storage device, input Y,X,X,LB,RB,X,X and a prompt will come up asking you if you want to empty your systems cache.
best of luck

My friend is going to get his Xbox flashed with the newest iXtreme firmware again, then try the games out.

He is concerned with playing his "old" games on the newest firmware though.

Also, do you know what the newest iXtreme firmware is up to now? (As in version numbers)

Anyone recommend a good, approved lens cleaner for the 360? I have to use my Philips DVD/CD before I can play a game or it won't read.

I got this 360 back from MS after a RROD repair and they just replaced mine with a refurb. I have no idea how the person who had it before took care of it. You'd think MS would have bothered to make sure the box is properly cleaned before sending them out.

you burn the patched .iso(load it into clone cd and set the book type to the right setting DVD-ROM), you dont need to have a .dvd file

if you have an .iso file, just open it inside DVDmulleter and you can create a .dvd file in there.

you need to patch your game with the s.s security sectors, when backing up a game these files are lost, check you PM (personal messages) i sent you a download link for the patches link

any dvd read can be used, you want one that can taken apart easily, and is fairly modern!

Quote:
ridata dl dvd+r

important media must be verbatim, it is the hands down best!!

ok, im not sure if this is the right place for this but i am having a proble bunring my backups. i have been using verbatim dvd+r dl (made in singapore) for a while now without a problem and the other day i went to best buy where i normaly buy them from and they are in a new case, different look but still made in singapore, so i was like ok, cool, just a new look thats all, so i get home and use clone cd like always and make my backup and try to play and nothing happens. my friend bought some the same day but he got the 15 pack spindle same look as mine cd and all where as i always get the 5 pack with the cases, and i burn the same backup on his disk and it plays in my xbox no problem. so if any one has a solution to this can they let me know. sounds like the singapore ones are going down hill not only that but they are verbatims also

although the packaging is them same you might be burning on a different formula disc, there is obviously a difference in the media, it could be that your disc set is a doggy batch (ruined from factory), its no doubt a media issue, although it wouldn't hurt to check your settings, book type and such
...best not to buy from best buy,try buying verbatim right off online and get them cheaper and find the same type you like and buy them over and over again!

the singapore still seem fine, it was probably some kind of different formula (i find when they change packaging or disc label somethings up!!)
you did use the same burner each burn correct?
try burning the backup on another disc of batch?
