switch media to VERBATIM DL-DVD you dont have any other options

use clone CD http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonecd.html
and set book type to DVD-ROM, now you said you have a coaster?
how did you classify it as a coaster? what lead you to believe it was one?
your 360 is modded with ixtreme/xtreme?
does the 360 read it or what?
also make sure your burning at 2x, anything faster and it wont burn quite right!

How do you know that a game is patched or not? In some .nfo's there stands if it's patched, but in some it doesn't stand there. How can I check it, before I waste a DL DVD?

use the same app...click on the CRC Checking tab, press autofix and it'll download the needed files and patch......however, it's been awhile since I've done this, not sure if it'll auto patch the loaded image or will ask you to save a copy of the image w/ the updated files...try and see.

I don't Usenet, it uses me.

well most downloads will have a file written in .nfo that can only (best program to open it with) be opened with this

its a clean download
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tool...FO-Viewer.shtml

unloaders mention in the .nfo whether or not its patched!

A much easier way of viewing your nfo files,

Right Click the NFO file,
Choose OPEN WITH
Choose "Choose Programme"
Wait for the window to open
Check the "Always use the selected programme to open this kind of file" box
Scroll down and find WORD PAD,
(if you cant see it browse and find the exe, will be in programme files folder)
Click OK

YOUR DONE!!
Now when u double click nfo file it will open in word pad,
and you can view it fine.

Verbatims are the best but...

Don't automatically assume the media can't be the issue when your using Verbatims and you can't get your burns to work. I went through countless images, bought a new burner, and 2 spindles of Verb's (Singapore) with no working back-ups. I bought a couple of new spindles when they went on sale (Verbs again) and now, images that did not work before (unplayable disc) are working without a hitch. I have not made a single coaster since.

Juat thought I would mention it so someone else might be able to save a few dollars (and some grief).

i'd say about 50% of all problems here are due to crappy media, its not like CD-R, DVD-DL is MANY layered.....verbatim period.

LOL....I'm lucky to have $5 @ any given time....usenet is cheap anyway, I only pay $15/mo.....unlimited bandwidth, retention is 100 days:

Usenet.net

I'm sure most ISP's provide some sort of usenet access, but the bandwidth will be very limited and, like my ISP (Charter), their retention sux ass and doesn't have most of the groups I'm interested in.

FWIW, here's an intro to usenet (for anyone interested)

I don't Usenet, it uses me.

Actually, you'be broken two rules...

1. no email addresses allowed.
2. no invite trading allowed and thus a mandatory 2-day suspension.

The rules are in my sig for your review upon your return.

Hi there,

I'm new to your site but I liked your tutorial on how to burn a dvd from a downloaded game. I was wondering if you had or was planning to add a tutorial on how to burn a game from an original. I know that windows does not recognize the files format from an original game. I also have a modded xbox360 ( updated firmware ) and have tested a game that I bought from the guy that modded it for me.

I saw you were also talking about adding a tutorial on how to mod your xbox360 yourself. ( open the box, plug que dvd from your xbox in your pc to update the firmware )

Will check daily for an answer.
Thanks

you mean ripp the game to your hdd like a dvd, well this can be done but be sure to patch the game with the S.S files once done:)
we call this process backing up, although your modded console can play
official games
http://clevermod.com/index.php?article=12
or you can do it the easier way!!
with the kreon firmware
http://www.ultimate-dvdr.com/game-backup...n-firmware.html

really your comment was confusing so if i missed anything please...POST BACK!

What I meant was make a copy of an original 360 game on a new dvd. Like I would do with cloneCD but the computer wont recognize the original DVD game. I it will probably just show a blank drive or simply just say that there is no CD in the burner

its a no go you can just copy original 360 games.....during the backup or copy of a 360 game the S.S files is lost (secret sectors) without them the console cant launch the game, thats why games need to be patched with the s.s files (prepatched) or you follow this guide oh how to patch the game:)
