so, i downloaded vobblanker... and im still clueles on when to use it. Do i run it after DVDFab Decrypter? Do i run it instead of DVD Fab Decrypter? what exactly does it do?
If you're going to use VOB blanker, you need to run your files through it after you rip to your HDD with DVDFab decrypter. DVD FAb will get rid of the copy protection to allow copying, however, it is always a good idea to use VOB blanker to remove any additional bad or empty sectors. It especially good to use if you're going to use DVD Shrink as it will help prevent errors when analyzing.

Always use good quality blank media. Verbatim is always a good call. Don't be seduced by those 50-spindles you find in the $2.99 bin at your local car wash! :)

Blanker will perform some actions if all you do is load the disc and choose an output folder. One of it's great features though is allowing you to blank out stuff like the full screen version of a film, or the previews and extras and that sort of thing which will make the movie smaller before shrinking. This obviously makes the disc smaller and Shrink won't have to compress the actual movie as much in order for it to fit on a single layer DVD.
after u rip the files using dvdfab all u have to do is create an output folder, however u can blank what you don't want like previews, or warnings.
i also would suggest to use vobblanker if doing a sony picture or disney and like Jigen said it does make the movie smaller which in turn makes the compresion smaller, especially the sony movies because they always have a ton of previews on them.
VobBlanker is a FREE tool that will allow you can "blank, edit, strip/cut" out any scenes, VTS, Cell, or PGC to your desire. In addition it will "correct/fix" any left over junks/proctections (i.e. invalid navigation data, dummy/fake cell, VTS or PGCs).

you run it after you have successfully decrypted your movie to HDD (not encrypted). you can skip the step if you want, but it could also give you errors in shrink. i run every movie i backup through vobBlanker, and i have never encountered an error in shrink or the burning process. vobBlanker is not an absolutely nessecary step, but i believe it does help in the process. alcohols guide is very detailed and simple. just play around till' you find the way you like to do it. your preference.
