If you have media with enough blank space (like Sony DVD media) can you print on the surface (text) & have it come out OK? I'm asking about printing on the blank space only (top & bottom) not the imprinted part on either side. Just bought my Epson R220 which does work on silver/matte CDR media...

To answer your question quickly NO. I tried printing on regular type blank DVDs with my R220 as a test and the ink never dried even after a month. When I print on inkjet printable discs I can touch the printed surface in a few minutes. I still can't figure out Epson's 24 hr.warning screen when using hub printable discs.

Though I have'nt tried it yet ! not having a Thermal CD/DVD printer Perhaps that would work ? in you situation ! Within it's limitations of course ! with Thermal printers You are limited to 4 printing areas top -bottom - right side - left side . Also you are limited to one color ink at time and small lo resolution graphics . But you may end up with neater or atleast easier to read Media label surfaces ! just a thought ! happy Printing!

@ framit, i am also using epson R220

hey i got a question, i recenty bought some verb printables and it seems like they are not fully dry because i get a fingerprint of ink when i press on it, before i was using TDK printables and they would be fully dry after a couple hours, i think i am going to try the verbs without the premium surface selected and see if they dry fully.
anyway
What kind of media r u using?
i also notice the verbs seem alot smoother than the TDK's too.

@300bowler.
Hi, I use nothing but Ty White Hub Printables never had a smudged one yet. I have also used Ty Silver Printables they also dried fast, but I didn't like the finish as good as the white. I have test printed on regular blanks but that was a waste of time and ink.
Under normal conditions I can safely touch the printed surface of the Ty's within ten minutes, but I don;t and give them an hour or so before I box them.
Thanks for the heads up on the Verbs I was about to purchase some and try them out.
