For anyone interested this is a beta ver. just posted at the slysoft site. Love the date.

- New: Added support for new versions of the Sony Arccos protection
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- New: Support for Windows Vista UAC
- Change: Individual drive settings window is shown after global settings
change in setup dialog and after wake up from S3 power saving
- Fix: AnyDVD did not always request a required reboot after setup
- Updated languages

what is better about this version? it still has the option for u to download the old version on the website, because.....
i have had newer versions of programs that performed less than the older versions, i want to be sure this one is better b4 i download it.

I downloaded it last night, and used it and it works fine on my computer. Am having no problems with it.........the changelog is posted so you can see what has changed.

tried the new version 6.0.2.1,on 3 movies,i had no problem..
using {+4x dvdrw for a test)and +dvdr 8x for a keeper..

the only problem i have with it is that when i go to use AnyDVD Ripper from the start menu, it crashes. I have to turn on AnyDVD and run it from the Fox icon on the system bar. why is that?

Probably because the program does need to be turned on in order to access the ripper. Unless you have it in autostart when you comp boots up and it is sitting in the tray, then it will work. Otherwise the program is not running so how can it rip if it is no open.

This version also works with the Vista beta, 6.0.1.1 did not.

That would be a plus, considering not much of what I had worked with Vista beta, lol. Nero 6 would but 7 wouldn't, my soundcard drivers wouldn't and none of my other burning sw. Internet worked fine though, but that become boring when it is all you can do with Vista.

when i used AnyDVD 6.0.1.1 i could go to the start menu and turn on the ripper without having to run the actual program.

Are you sure it wasn't on autostart, because I have never been able to run it without first opening the program.

my AnyDVD was on auto start since day one,as AnyDVD is always enabled..
as i do a lot of cd;s..
as AnyDVD will not let a Rootkits install...off the sony music cd crap
this is what i use on all my computers, for my start up group try it ye might like it..

what is the differance between beta and non beta?and if the update for beta is ok how come its not updated for the regular AnyDVD?

The beta version is usually put out there for all us daring to try, and if there are bugs and they are reported they are fixed for the final version update, if nothing goes on then it is put out as is, just a different ver number to it.

You are wlecome, the tribe can't even win when they are winning. That is why I like the movie Major League, they at least win if only in fantasy. Oh well, to say what every Indians fan says all the time, "There is always next year" lol.

@Arniebear...I am an Indians fan suffering here in North Carolina. Most of the people here are Braves fans. I liked the Tribe better when they were losing all of the time. It was so less disappointing!!!

My son lived in NC for 12 years and you are right he was a minority. The problem with the tribe is if the pitching is good the bats are dead, if the batting is good the pitching is atrocious, they need to pull themselves together. I am still moaning the loss of Jim Thome, I wear my T-shirt every game and cry :(

Why don't you format this drive to NTSF, it is still Fat32 and you are running XP?

yes arniebear this is a backup i was haven reading problems with tried to copy it and kept getting error on it my original some how go t a crack in it we went to watch it lastnight and found out the original was damaged so i tried to rerip the backup.
what is NTSF and how do i format it for that? i think this is some of my problems with my burner its not beefed up to opperate right

Here is how to convert your drive to NTFS, I did this for a spare drive in my wife's comp with no loss of date. However, it is always good to back up your data regularly.

As for you disk problem, if the disk is scratched or has errors you probably will have problems on a rerip. Better to get another original if the original is bad too.
