Hey there guys, simple question... how do I simply go through the burning process without backing up any files? I already have the files backed up on my computer and open. How can I skip the file backup part and just burn it, using Nero THROUGH DVD Shrink?

I ask because I used DVD Decrypter and pcg edit and such to backup capote, but it's left me with a crapload of VOB, MPEG and IFO files, and when I try to just burn them using burning rom I have no idea which ones to put on there or how to compact them, but DVD Shrink has the perfect compilation open already... and I want to just burn it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not too sure about your question "how do I simply go through the burning process without backing up any files?" because isn't that what you are doing by burning it? Well anyways you should have .vob,.ifo,.bup files...I use Nero, just go to Nero express or Nero oem whatever it's called click on dvd video files (i think that is the name)and add all the VOB,ifo, and bup files to the video folder and burn, if it's too large and won't fit on a DVD5 (4.7g) then open the folder with your ifo,VOB,bup (usually Video_ts) and compress with DVD Shrink so it will fit on a DVD5. DVD Shrink can burn the movie after compression, or you can add the files it creates into Nero and burn like i stated before. hope that helps

Not so simple question as it is very difficult to work out what you are asking or trying to achieve.

If your original is less than 4464Mb you could do an on the fly copy using Nero with a program such as AnyDVD running in the background. On the fly method increases possibility of bad burns and errors.

As the majority of commerical disk are greater than 4464Mb capicity you normally have to compress to your hard disk using a program such as DVD Shrink and then burn the resulting files with Nero etc.

Please clarify you question.

I understand what you are saying, you can't do it. You have to simply manually delete the folder that you have created when you are through with it. Defrag, defrag, defrag all the time!!

JOHNSTARR is correct. All of the recoding(shrinking) programs rip a file to your HDD so that the recoding program will read and do its thing and send the new files to the burning program. Some do rip and recode in one program. Some have settings that will delete the cached files after the burn when you exit out. Some files have to be manually removed and as always DEFRAG.

Burning on the fly, I'm not sure that a recoded file is ever placed on the HDD but the movie is recoded and burned simultaneously. Not recommended.

Since you already say your files are on the HDD, and if they are the correct size which is 4.3g or below then you can just manually burn with Nero. You do not have to go through Shrink again. Here is a guide on burning with Nero.

Hi arniebear

Thanks as per usual

I used DVDfab platium to rip the disc and made the disc 4.46gb

I tried to burn the files directly and it didn't work, said there wasn't enough disck space ??

I'll just keep trying to reduce the file sizes i guess and hoep it works.

Also tried to rip just the main movie with DVDfab platinum and this gave me only have the film ???

@hm1

Set your settings a 4334 and this will take you to the correct size. I always set my size to this, even using good media I still like to leave a little leftover so I am not on the edge of the disk. But that is my preference.
