First time poster, fairly new at backing up with my DVD burner.
I use DVD Shrink, DVDFab and DVD Decryptor. While trying to backup the Pink Panther everything was going fine. Used DVDFab to backup to my hard-drive. Then after re-author in DVD Shrink, I clicked back up. It would get about 25% done and pop up an error message. I do not recall all of the error message, my bad.
The error did say something about memory, which I have enough by most accounts and something about Page to Small or something. With this cryptic message recall, I was wondering if folks here thought it might be FAT32 vs NTFS problem?
In backing other DVDs I have not encountered this problem. So I was looking for a solution, unless my problem is obvious (meaning me!).
I don't know why the previous repliers haven't said anything... you NEED to put your system in NTFS mode. In FAT32... you can't have files larger than 4 gigabytes.
It isn't necessary to change from FAT32. The programs will still work with FAT32. It's just that any files larger than 4GB will be split to not exceed the 4GB limit. I prefer NTFS over FAT32. Unless you have a compelling reason not to changeover, you might as well do it. You're getting a page memory error because I suspect you have exceeded the RAM available in your system. 256 is not really enough to do much of anything. You don't have a lot of space on your HDD and I don't know how your virtual memory is setup but it's possible there isn't sufficient disk space to enable your virtual memory either.
Yes, it is true that you don't "necessary" needed VobBlanker to "always" process the already ripped VIDEO_TS (movie) once it's done ripping. However, it is wise to process with VobBlanker to correct any left craps or left over protections for "security" purpose.
If once you've ripped the movie "Pink Panther" via DVDFAB Decrypter into your hard drive, started to transcode with DVD Shrink and you got any kind of errors, then it's "wise and always" recommended to process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker to correct/fix any left over "fake structural, PGCs, VTS, dummy cells, etc." Once your done with VobBlanker, then continue on with DVD Shrink as normal and you should be all square away.
