HD advance 3.0 & HDL Dump 8.5 HELP!!!

I using HD advnced 3.0. I am able to ping my ps2 from my pc, however when I load HDL Dump 8.5 try to attach I get the error"no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" Can any body please help!! its driving me nuts!!

There are threads on this, do a search on FTP transfer.
I don't use it myself, a bit too slow for my liking.
( I use a usb to IDE adaptor cable, take out PS2 HDD, plug into USB cable and access / transfer files that way with HDL dump or Winhiip. It pretty quick and the adaptor cable was only about £8.
The cable can also be used to treat a spare hdd as a big pen drive for all sorts of purposes.

I searched for these FTP threads and could not find any relevant help.

I have hdld_svr-0.8.5 running on my PS2 with hdl_dumb-0.8.5 on my PC. I am able to ping the PS2, but can not get hdl_dumb to connect. It says the target machine actively refused the connection.

I'm totally stuck here, so any help would be hugely appreciated.
