What version of the PStwo slim do u have. Or give the SCPH-????? number located on the bottom on a sticker. Did u have a modchip installed? It might be a burned laser or a bad laser. Laser can be replaced for around 25$ which aint expensive comparing the big fat ps2 lasers are like 60. You might be able to repair the laser it might not be your laser either.

Ah ha! just as i though the stupid V12's. When u got it did it worked? And has it been opened (unscrew) before u got it. Well the V12 have problem with laser problems and kill the lasers really fast you will need a laser fix of some kind and a new laser. But i dunno if u going to keep the V12 since there are no acual laser fix thats proven 100%. But theres some that helps it alot more. Lasers is aproximently 25$ and laser fixes are around 10$. And if the PStwo had been opened before u might check the ribbon to see it ifs been damage(the ribbon that connects to the laser and is stucked on the mobo). The V12 also support IDE hard drives (HD-Combo & HD connect) or something like that. You can see what type of laser u have on the laser when u opened it up. Also i would check to see if a beam comes out of the PStwo(i never had a V12 laser problem before so i dont know if it would burn out, or gets weak) U can check by holding the two swich on the PStwo ehen opened up there is a swich on top of the on/off swich and one next to the whole metal block where the laser is on (on the top)
